Yeah DiCaprio is fantastic. The end.
Yeah DiCaprio is fantastic. The end.
objectively great is a hard oversell. he picks a lot of great projects but re acting ability he generally tops out at a little above average (with some exceptions: The Departed, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood). but even at his best he ain't touching a Daniel Day Lewis or Phillip Seymour Hoffman or Gary Oldman at their worst.
i disagree and find him unwatchable at times. hes generally good enough but any movie i've really enjoyed him in is because he was carried by the movie itself and those around him. ima go ahead and say that i think dicaprio has been on a steady decline since 2006 with the ONE exception being him in wolf of wallstreet which i begrudgingly mention because it's just him giving more of the same.
i haven't seen once upon a time in hollywood yet but i fucking hate seeing him in everything else since 2002/2006.
i'm pretty sure the revenant turned me from neutral towards dicaprio to total and complete hatred.
Her kids in The Fabelmans turn out alright
not saying he’s better than ddl, but…I don’t think picking good movies/roles should count against him. also, man, I don’t think his performance in revenant is that good, but picking departed and Hollywood as his prime roles seems very wrong. recency bias (for me) but he shows incredible range in shutter island, and even though it’s very monotone, he’s incredible in wolf of wall street
how often do actors show incredible range in a single film anyway? ddl’s best films acting wise (imo) is there will be blood, and hes just a phenomenal asshole the whole film (and it works!)
i dunno about best acting, but he was lookin his finest in last of the mohicans no cap
anyway after thinking about it for approximately two minutes the best acting performance of all time in showing “range” in one film is jack nicholson in cuckoos nest
I swear my sig picture has nothing to do with this
It's a TV show and not a movie, but Tatiana Maslany in Orphan Black is a clear and obvious choice.
is it even worth watching shutter island knowing what it's all about
not really worth watching even when you don't
i saw it years ago and knew how it ended, but it came up on my recommended views after watching prey (idk why) and wanted to see how DiCaprio’s character acted throughout
i watched wolf of Wall Street like two weeks ago so im assuming that’s why it got recommended
also besides barbarian, what movies that came out in the last year should i watch now that im getting caught up
also don’t let this aside detract from the fact that prey rules
Aquateen Plantasm
Clerks III
Bullet Train
Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe
Top Gun Maverick

I will take the rest of your recommendations into consideration
