Arrival is indeed try hard wankery as Xno said, Sicario is an ok film but a terrible Hollywood portrayal of Mexico's wars with the cartels, Bladerunner 2049 is solid but worse than the original in every way and sadly loses several points for casting Jared Leto, Dune also quite solid. if Dune 2 rules could be the second peak of his career.

2049 fucking sucks and i saw it in theaters. dune was visually fun at points what with the drill bombs and massive ships etc but ur gonna tell me it wasn't an incredibly uneven movie that was bland af and got away with not even functionally being a full movie because it's a given that it has sequels in the works

i've heard of none of those. they look like low tier horror movies and i generally find horror to be dogshit majority of the time. i did like barbarian and plan to watch x and pearl tho.

before barbarian the last horror-esque movie i liked was wolf of snow hollow cuz it was just dumb fun that owned what it was
