I watched Fright Night yesterday and boy, anything with practical effects still holds up. People just don't dissolve into piles of goo and bones like they used to.

Everyone here should watch, "2001: A Space Odyssey" even if you think it's boring or don't understand it. Then read about how they did the special effects without the use of ANY computers or anything we would call "digital" and you will be impressed.

My oldest child fucking HATES 2001. It is an unrelenting disdain for that movie. Finds the entire thing, start to finish, less exciting than watching a cat groom itself.

I liked Citizen Kane quite a bit. Don't mind them using Rosebud as a plot device to show Kane's life. Really really enjoyed the scene where his (2nd) wife left him. Brilliant acting by Welles there. You start to wonder if he really does love her at the end before realizing he just doesn't want the publicity. Great movie. Great backstory.

Also, Welles was 100% correct when he told Hearst that Kane would have watched the movie. So fucking cold.

We had a Shyamalan night and watched Trap and The watchers and the family enjoyed them both, but Trap was better

Both were bad, but had some fun moments. Trap is enjoyable if you decide to turn off your brain and watch, which I had to do quite a bit watching this, nothing about this was believable.

I enjoyed Trap up until the end where it just took a nosedive. I especially hated the ending. I liked the concept of the main plot even if it had issues.

Watched Twisters. It was ehh it was fine. Way too long imo. should've been a quick like 90min movie but it was freaking 2 hours. Definitely would wait till it's like a 4.99 rental though. Not worth the 20 bucks to rent on amazon
