Never really fancied myself a collector, but when I was living in TN a decade ago I went to a shop with some friends and snagged some stuff as sort of a "what if?". Came across them 10 years later while I was packing up to move again. The ones that are actually worth anything (USM) are still polybagged. Apparently nobody gives a shit about Ultimate Hawkeye sadly lol.
    Spoiler: show

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a comic packaged like that. Cool!

Also apparently the only Hawkeye run that’s really good is Fractions. But it’s supposed to be really really really good.

I’ve already lost a few auctions in it last second.

The upcoming Disney+ series for Hawkeye is based on Fraction's run even down to having Pizza Dog in it.

Because yes, it's literally the only decent Hawkeye series that has ever existed.

On the flip side, you just got me on board with the D+ series in one sentence.

Not finished yet (though Birthright does finish with the next issue), these are all image series

    Monstress
    Birthright
    Lazarus
    Saga
    Sunstone (very NSFW)
Seven to Eternity (finishing with the next issue in a month or two)
Can you assist me with the Hickman run?

I think I found good omnis for them assuming they are ever reprinted but it sounds like...

    Start here - https://www.cheapgraphicnovels.com/f...pre-order.html + volume 2
    Then here - https://www.cheapgraphicnovels.com/a...vol-01-hc.html + volume 2.

It looks like the avengers omnibuses cover all of the infinity saga if I'm reading it right. Secret wars appears to be shorter and only like a small 10 issue hardcover to wrap it all up.

Am I reading all this correctly? Given the scope of the marvel and DC universes it's hard to tell.

That looks right for those graphics novels.

I have the same Fantastic Four/FF ones (albeit with different covers) and that covers everything you need for that, and the issues in the Avengers ones cover everything as far as I can remember.

For Secret Wars itself I seem to remember the Thor tie in being relevant to the main story, but it's largely self contained to the main run.

I'll most likely pick this up slowly. It looks like FF vol 1 is out again in november so hopefully we get reprints of some of the others in the next year or so as well.

    Thanks!

There is always the digital route, whether legal or not.

Fair point, but honestly at this point I have a giggggantic backlog. I can get through about 20 issues max per day so november may actually work out as a good time to start.

Just finished the first Saga hardcover.

Jesus this is good. I cant believe I still have two more hardcovers to get through. Even if it does apparently have a cliffhanger for now I don’t care.

I think he loves all of Gen X, lol. That choice in the new team is interesting. I like it but I think having him and Rogue seems redundant, especially with Synch's new powerup. I think I would have preferred Darwin for that reason, but Synch is probably more ideal for the representational aspect of it all.

Finished the first Geoff John’s green lantern omnibus.

Because there were 3 I expected a bunch of various story arcs that would have hints leading to blackest night in future volumes but never did I expect that this single volume would also work as a standalone book that itself seemed to tell a complete standalone story. The entire coast city plot line starting and seemingly concluding this volume was very unexpected.

I have volume 2 arriving next week and I can’t wait.

Jonathan Hickman will no longer be running the X-Desk after Inferno. He'll still be working at Marvel but his writing will be focused on his own content at Substack.

He had outlined a 3-act structure to Krakoa and I would imagine the Hellfire Gala was the end of Act One with Inferno opening Act Two, so there's roughly 2/3rds of whatever the plan was that we'll never see now. Maybe part of his job at Marvel will be continuing to lay out framework to follow? Who knows.

What this probably means is that Krakoa was SO successful that Marvel just wants to make this the status quo going forward which hey, that's cool, big, permanent changes are rare in comics, but it's not really the story I signed on for.

Y: The Last Man writer Brian K. Vaughan, together with artist Fiona Staples, made a long-awaited announcement today at Vaughan’s spotlight panel at the 2021 New York Comic Con. Saga — their heart-wrenching, twist-filled, sexy, violent, operatic space epic — will return to publication after a lengthy hiatus in 2022.

“I’ve really missed connecting with readers through the pages of Saga,” Staples said via news release, “so I’m thrilled to roll up my sleeves and dive into this world again. The next arc is already going places I never imagined.”

Saga #55 will be an extra-long issue — 44 pages rather than the usual 22 — for the same price. The book will hit shelves on Jan. 26, 2022.

    FUCK

I'm so mad Hickman is leaving the X-desk.

You read Hickman stories so that you can see the breadcrumbs add up to a whole slice and then pull back and get the entire loaf revealed.

The Hellfire Gala gave us that first slice and you can tell reading Inferno that this was going to start to be the pullback but it's over here and whatever else he had planned we'll never know.

    God damn.

Just got to fantastic four 601 with all the Hickman buildup.

I see why everyone says he’s worth the payoff.
