Big news today: Marvel is moving their offices out of New York City to Burbank. Marvel's head office has been in NYC for almost 90 years, since they were Timely comics in 1938.

But maybe the even bigger headline is C.B. Cebulski is out as Editor-in-Chief. He'll be moving to Japan to spearhead Marvel's Manga division and Stephen Wacker will be taking over.

Huh. I wonder what Marvel's ambitions ofr the manga industry is. that seems like a completely alien market to western comics. Although I see a lot more alternate covers for manga nowadays.

Marvel has produced manga for years, but it was published through Shueisha. That deal ended recently so they're going to start self publishing.
