For PH specifically an ID check could outright stop a lot of the resharing of video's of people without their consent.

For that reason alone I'm really surprised you aren't required to supply the ID of everyone in a scene before it's available for download given the panoply of laws around porn production/distribution in some states.

Ding ding ding. Blacklisting them as a merchant is a huge deal. Amex by their own policy won't process any adult merchant transactions already. A few years ago Fetlife went through something similar where randomly one day all the major credit card companies refused to process any payments for them, nearly causing the site to go under. If say Mastercard did find something that would cause them to pause and withdraw, it could increase pressure on Visa and Discover to do the same.
