So, they're forced into a streamer tag that already considers them? lol

It's the shit visibility. Discoverability is a huge problem for the platform and the Trans community wants to stand out.

It's like why the Creative category is so dead so all the artists and stuff park in Just Chatting to get discovered.

Discoverability isn't a problem trans streamers only face. Everyone and their grandma has a stream, just like how every gay has a freaking onlyfans. At this point, you need to offer something totally and absolutely unique to get noticed or stand out and a trans tag isn't gunna be it. But by all means, if they think that will fix the issues and wanna bitch about it, they can go right ahead

Don't worry, the internet soon enough will find replacement words for the banned ones, and thus begins a cat & mouse game of Twitch trying to keep up with the current lingo. Also they missed a lot of other slang people use, while they're at it.

It's Twitch. Either have a great body that fits within their no-skin guidelines, have a great personality/insight, or just be really fucking good at games.

I don't get the point of having a trans tag in the first place. If I'm going to Twitch, I don't care if the streamer is trans or anything else, I'm there for the content. I get that there are some people out there who will seek out trans streamers regardless of content, but it also seems like a magnet to attract viewers they don't want.

The Just Chatting tag is trash. I know there's probably (music) streams in there I would be interested in, but I refuse to wade through all the trash to find them.

I keep hearing you guys say all the trans streamers are mad at this, but I watch a majority of trans streamers and they've not said word one about this, just cause a few people are vocal doesn't make the whole community feel that way.

It was actually an ask by viewers who want to find trans streamers instead of wading through the LGBTQA+ tag trying to find a streamer by happenstance. It was the highest Twitch UserVoice idea on the Town Hall category. As some people on the comments stated, it would also make it easier to make communities/teams and make it accessible to collaborate. And as much as it would make those streamers a target, that's what moderation tools are for.

I follow an Apex streamer who Is a (possibly gay?) furry(DoryuuX). He used to do Facecam but now does a Vtuber thing of his Dog Fursona and I still watch him despite not being gay nor a Furry, and even find the Fursona Vtuber thing funny and entertaining. Lots of viewers there are also furries, and most of the people he hosts are too, but he's just wholesome and entertaining, as well as very good at Apex legends. I didn't even know these types of tags existed as I've never searched for a streamer based on anything but "What game are they playing and are they fun to watch?". I found Doryuu through TwitchRivals when he played on a team with A_Seagull, and have followed him since. Doryuu also apparently uses the LGBT+ Tag, which I just discovered a couple seconds ago after typing this and am now editing it in.

This is all to say, I don't care on any level what sex, race, or genitals the person I'm watching has. I fundamentally do not and cannot understand the mindset displayed by that dude in the Twitter clip, as I don't even live in the same world as him it seems.

    That said...

I don't have to understand. I think they should give them the tag, this is one of those things where its not a hill worth dying on. That tag Is not going to hurt anyone and if you don't like the tag just don't use the tag, its really that simple. If that little word sitting under a streamers stream makes him feel a little safer then who am I to get pissy about it, it will literally never bother me.
