I'm still lost on the whole NFT thing.

I partake in NBA TopShot which is like virtual trading cards and it comes with its own resale marketplace (very similar to Steam's). MLB has a similar service.
Others are images created by artists and give an image a license which gives it a value. This also turns it into a collectable. A lot of this is artists and rights holders trying to get paid for things that get spread across the net that get no credit.

Nothing. The logic is that you can own a print of something like the Mona Lisa but it's not THE Mona Lisa.

Of course here you're looking at the "items" for all intents and purposes being identical from the original and the copy, but only the ones with the NFT token have the certificate of authenticity saying that it's the original.

Obviously implied in this is that taking the video down is just a ploy to spike the NFT price by raising awareness.

However, maybe they haven't thought it through because taking it down arguably hurts the NFT's value by making it less culturally prevalent in the long term. The buyer should stipulate that they re-enable it (including view totals) after purchase, or it has no value because there are fewer potential buyers.

Question is just if it has any value since unlike the poop on a plate the only purpose of making something an NFT is money

Yah, of course, that makes sense on a physical product to me because of the historical value of a physical piece of history. I just can't grasp the concept of people finding value in owning the original digital upload copy of like, the Piano Cat video or something. I get the rights to use the likeness/the creator wanting to make money off it sure, just not the value in the 'original copy'.

I can see the parallels you can draw between a physical and digital 'original' though, I'm just old and cranky and think its dumb, lets move on now.

It kinda blows my mind that there isn't a site that is just a non-stop dumping of onlyfans content supported by ads. Is it that hard to keep offshore websites going? Is ad revenue on illegal stuff that poorly performing? I have these same questions about a lot of Patreon content and especially Substack.
