Microsoft has been slapping Twitch streamers playing Halo Online (a mod that's been around for years) with DMCAs and getting channels banned. 343 had no idea Microsoft was doing this, also Microsoft said in a statement that they just wanted people to stop streaming the mod and didn't intend to get players banned from Twitch. Although, Microsoft hasn't forced the mod's creators to take down the mod, they do have a tentative agreement to stop the creators from including Halo assets in the download.

YouTube is forcing Networks to police themselves or face removal. 50 channel strikes over a network will get it suspended. In light of this, networks are dumping channels in droves.

Youtube has always had networks (usually called MCNs). Like Curse, Channel Awesome, and Normal Boots. It allows the network to deal with youtube instead of the individual creators.
