So for those who haven’t played Red Dead 2, there are female suffragettes in the game campaigning for women’s right to vote. They can be treated like any other NPC in the game, which means they can be punched/killed/fed to alligators etc

So of course that leads to particular sect of misogynistic incels uploading vids of them “feeding feminists to alligators” and killing them in other assorted ways. YouTube subsequently pulled these vids and banned channels, then did an abrubt reversal a day later and restored them.

I noticed Matt Yglesias of Vox Media deleted all his tweets after tweeting his lack of empathy for Tucker Carlsons wife after protestors showed up at the Carlsons house. He also went on to say he doesnt agree with what they're doing, including I think cracking open the front door and scaring Carlsons wife, but that if you find yourself empathizing with her but not having any empathy for the targets of Tuckers rhetoric then maybe you should look into that.

Well white nationalists took exception to that and apparently doxxed him after going through his tweets and finding his home address. They also made threats against his kid so yeah.

In other youtube news... Mobile Diablo vids are getting rekted so hard right now. Like even with deleting comments and removing dislikes and reuploading people are coming back to recomment and redownvote. Despite that I think some comments have as many upvotes as the video lol. If they weren't Blizzard/Activision, there wasn't a need to chase the mobile market to please investors, and a 3rd party developer on a Blizzard IP I would imagine it would've gotten delayed or pushed into nothing.

Imagine Square Enix says it's a great year to be a Final Fantasy MMO fan. You get hyped. You think maybe it's an XI remaster, or XI-2, or maybe just an expansion for XIV. You pay hundreds of dollars to go to their convention. The announcement about Final Fantasy MMOs is in the prime slot. You wait. The moment arrives. Yoshi P gets up on the stage and says "Okay FF MMO fans, are you ready? Check out these sweet new action figures!" You're naturally confused. How does this relate to the MMOs other than just being from them? So you get up and ask some questions about it. Any plans to to a tie-in event in-game? Maybe something similar to an amiibo? Not only is the answer no, but when the crowd expresses their displeasure at that answer, the people on stage sneer "What, you don't have shelves?!"


People aren't pissed about Diablo Mobile. No one gives a shit either way, and that's the problem. Blizzard was so fucking tone-deaf that they got up in front of a bunch of PC gamers and expected them to "oooh!" and "aaaah!" over a mobile game just because it had Diablo slapped on it. And then gave an extremely condescending response when people tried to figure out why the fuck Blizzard was telling them about this and not a room full of shareholders, who are the actual audience for an announcement like that.


People are upset because what Blizzard accidentally showcased was how little they give a shit about what fans think.

I dont follow blizzard news closely but even I knew it wasnt diablo 4 news when blizzard came out days before and said to calm down, they'll release d4 news when they're ready but that this announcement wasnt that.

Like, I really dont go out of my way to hear blizzard news and that story found itself to me somehow. Stupid people get butthurt cause their favorite AAA franchise takes forever to make, what else is new. You'll see me doing the same shit in a year when FF7 remake news hasn't come out after SE does a big teaser at TGS 2019.

I think you're vastly underestimating the amount of garbage SE fans would eat up.

There's also the fact it looks like a reskin of other games that the other company involved has made... which were often derivative of diablo lol. And yeah know how aggressively monetized mobile games tend to be.

And let's face it to a lot of people especial this kind of audience mobile games are basically something you do as a pure time waster like when you're having a long poop or commuting. When they want to sit down and play their beloved franchise they want it to bet better than what was before in gameplay and graphics not a watered down worse version of previous titles that are already aged. They also don't want to be told that don't worry phone hardware has 100% caught up with game software or whatever similar line they used lol.

If they straight up ported Diablo 2 to phone (and clearly they should be able to do it since phone hardware has caught up) people would love it or a remastered version. But shoving a low effort obvious cash grab in their faces lol what you think would happen
