wtf is a bundle of sticks?
Definitely going to start using the bundle of sticks line. Calling people fairies is starting to become too obvious.
harsh ; ;
What's a 3 letter word for cigarette?
i'm so slow, thank you.
YouTuber described as a "1st Amendment Auditor" hit by a ricochet bullet discharged by a synagogue security guard.

YouTube is mass-banning accounts that have videos containing the acronym "CP" in them confusing the videos as advertisements for child porn. It's mostly Pokemon Go (Combat Points) & Club Penguin accounts getting hit. YT did reinstate a few accounts after having a live person review the content.
In other broken youtube news. YouTube's copyright claim system abused by extorters
tl;dr now people are falsely using the copyright claim system then threatening to file the 3rd strike and your out unless you pay. And the system is so broken that the strikes actually go thru and stay until you prove the extortion even though they contain no copyrighted material and the claims are being made by randos with no connection to any supposed material

Turns out that there is an softcore pedo ring that was using CP in their video titles and was exploiting video ads to distribute their "content."
god i hope YT really cracks down on ALL the weird pedo shit on the platform. Elsagate has been going on for a long time now, and despite the stupid fucking name, it's actually pretty insidious.
I have virtually stopped letting my kids watch youtube because kid channels and kid playlists aren't safe. Got the GoNoodle app on my ipad full of kid safe content music videos. Much better. (Plus I never let them watch anything without me actively watching with them to be clear.)
right? i came across it on reddit. /r/elsagate tracks it as best they can. it's some of the most deeply disturbing content i've seen on the internet, and i've been down quite a few rabbit holes in my time.
This is their sticky if you want to read about it without being exposed directly.#ElsaGate refers to a wave of videos being produced by different channels, containing pop culture characters (typically Western) that are shown doing bizarre and usually violent / sexual acts. The reasoning for the existence of these varies. For example - some believe, controversially, that it is a form of communication used by child pornographers; others believe that it is to appeal to children for maximum ad revenue. Others believe that it started as a project for maximum revenue, and has now derailed into bizarre competition. The majority of the live-action videos are made in Russia and the animations in India.
I'm not usually the alarmist sort, but this shit is disturbing enough that I warn parents about it any time internet use and the littles comes up.
Everyone out there expecting the robot apocalypse to come from some DOD war simulation AI going rogue when it's actually gonna be some Youtube algorithm forced to watch endless streams of Frozen/Spider-man pregnancy videos coming to the logical conclusion that mankind is a failed experiment in need of liquidation.
At this point I think the conclusion is that it's 99% to generate revenue from kids clicking thumbnails and strange videos to keep them watching for viewing time.
Most of the accounts also botted their subscribers and the minimum view time to get monetization - you don't see Elsagate vides with under the 1000 sub requirement which is a strong indicator it's for the $$$.
Everyone is pulling ads from YouTube as well over this.
