It's so terribly important women (and men, all sexual abuse survivors, really)are heard and i think metoo has done a lot to help victims find strength to come forward which is phenomenal, but it's more than a little disgusting people are ok with lives being ruined without due process because "it's rarely false accusations".

Reading your responses pretty much proves my sentiments. You are so deeply invested in this despite it having really nothing to do with you at all. This same thing is shared by many, many others over the Internet in various different situations going on. The guy is now dead after all, and you seem to show no real care or compassion for what has now happened. It's real easy to see that everyone will move the goal post and say it was on him to commit suicide, and has nothing to do with themselves, Zoe, or anyone else who's been accusing him.

The issue is that this has everything to do with mob mentality and mob justice, when people who have taken a side over a private matter going public seek to make one side of the issue as favorable as possible in the eyes other other onlookers, such as myself. From there many people within these mobs take it upon themselves to damage the other side however possible they can. Not going to list methods, since Prothescar did it just as eloquently as I would. And now we see that Zoe just up and bounced from the Internet, with next to no repercussions after dude took his life. This type of shit is very common, especially when some guilt is seen within these types. Same exact thing just happened with Chai and Charlie after Projared cleared his name of pedophilia.

I'm not saying due process of the law is even as effective as it should be, especially in a society that can manipulate it with money. However, it exists so that facts can come about in a case untainted by opinion of either side and guilt & innocence can be proven on either side. There is no real standard for accuracy when you have people pleading their case to the public instead of before a court. Zoe may very well be truthful in what happened to her. However now we'll never know. And ironically, looks like people who publicly defend her don't even care. However, this seems to be the MO of people in within Cancel Culture, and a good deal of people in the #MeToo movement.

Not blaming it Zoe. More so those on the Internet who defend Zoe and have obviously been harassing Alec constantly since the situation came about. Alternatively, his supporters and their harassment of Zoe is very likely the reason why she's opted to abandon the Internet after he killed himself. The shit goes both ways and usually the people at fault are the faceless Internet warriors who can lob accusations (or harass, dox) without cease and then not have to be held accountable for anything at all.

Sorry homie, but I'm not as invested into this situation as much as you think I am. I just find it interesting that people are more interested in public opinion over due process when it comes to this stuff. ProJared just got back to videos after successfully defending himself from what seems to be at least 90%+ of the Internet who believed he was a pedophile. And guess what? Public opinion has one again shifted in his favor and Heidi is having a very public break down over Twitter and posting her entire backlog of text messages with her therapist to try and get back some clout with people who supported her.

The entire "It's OK bros, no one is going to jail!" is a pretty shitty cop-out argument that's easily used. The reason why these people aren't being investigated is because the victims of this nonsense choose to air out their dirty laundry over the Internet (Zoe, Heidi) instead of going to the proper authorities and contacting lawyers for legal advice or to start proceedings to plead their case. Of course lawyers would ask for their clientele to refrain from using social media, which lies the irony of it all.
