they made a slavery joke and homophobic slur etc now the fanbase who watch the show are cancelling them. I don’t see it happening at all, it will be either be ignored or defended by shill media.

So the "slavery" thing came about when they were retelling a conversation between two of the creators where they brainstormed about bringing in all of the siblings of Bow who had different occupations but they wanted the names to rhyme with Bow. They started listing characters like Oboe who would play an Oboe and then someone brought up who a farmer be and they said Sow. There was no implied slavery as all of the brothers had different occupations.

The homophobic slur was just the moderator calling a character a Dyke, so it wasn't anyone involved in the show, and finally there was a fan email that was read on air about how two of the characters were the "best disabled representation".

Listen, I know absolutely nothing about Vtubing and even less about this Pokeyman lady, but... Athena seems like she has a legitimate grievance? At the end of the day, it's the content of the streamer that keeps people watching. Vtubers' fans tend to enjoy them because they are basically watching an anime character do normal streamer things. Not knowing who the actual person behind the character is sells the fantasy that it's just that character as well. Vtuber Pokimane is still Pokimane so she's not really going to bait that many new viewers.
