How many times did you tell your parents that you cant pause your game of halo or CS or LoL or whatever online game? You cant pause a live stream, and the video was showing that these intrusive ads may interrupt an important part of a live stream.

Viewers are already annoyed by this. Obviously Among Us is the meta game. People watch a streamer play when suddenly when the body is discovered, ad plays and the viewer misses the entire discussion because of a 60 second unskipable ad that has no volume normalization.

If a blanket auto mid-roll ad is standard, then RIP esports. It would be one thing if you could rewind, but YouTube this is not.

Someone was floating around an unverified number, but allegedly the amount of ad revenue for Twitch last year was around $300M. Youtube's ad revenue was about 10x that. Even when pushing streamers to play ads to kill pre-rolls, it continued to leave too much ad money on the table. Ads are shit business but Twitch has to please papa Bezos to give him even more money. Not to mention they are killing Twitch Sings at the end of the year because music licenses are too expensive.

Already seen some companies like Burger King going into popular streams and abusing text to speech donation alerts, paying the absolute minimum to trigger the alarm (like $5) and reading off an ad. But they won’t sponsor the streamer. It’s bullshit.

youtube ads have gotten worse, more unskippable ones, seems like 2-3x as many on a video, some. of the skippable ones are like 3 min long it seems like, if you cant get to the phone right away to skip, idk man the shit is almost unwatchable on mobile, is there an adblock that works on youtube app for android?

I can't seem to be able to check a stream on Twitch nowadays without getting ads for fast food or booze. Pretty sure that's not legal according to Canadian laws without checking the audience's age.
