Hey we only get pissed if you go to a Puerto Rican restaurant and ask for tacos. I don't give a shit about emojis, at least they don't have bandoliers and six shooters.

I was worried about posting amongst my fellow Hispanics because too many beaners gathered together attracts the police or even worse, the dreaded Karen.
Mexican-american (both parents from Mexico) here as well, but like Krandor, pretty white skin wise.
Edit: Actually, I'm pretty white in general lol. My Spanish isn't great (only really use it with my mom) and I don't really celebrate any Mexican traditions.
Guess that's what we get for being a Hispanic in a war zone no ?
Shit, where I live right now (Cedar Park/Leander area...bunch of racists for the most part) I've already been called a couple of good racial slurs already within three months of living over here. Still haven't gotten stopped by the
Williamson County Sheriffs yet though...I still have that box open on my 'Racist bible belt' bingo card.
which ones of yall are latinx
I rank it at the top for how it gets constantly pushed. I totally get the idea of an individual wanting to use it, but constantly trying to push it on everyone is just... ugh
3% of Hispanics in the US use it, outside the US no one uses it at all and some even consider it offensive.
People I know feel like it's white washing our culture and language and co-opting it. I'm nowhere near conservative and I hate the damn term and I don't know a single Hispanic friend who likes it.

It's just ridiculous when Latin is right there
mexican on my moms side here, my dad is white of some sort. dunno what actually, i never really bothered finding out - he's a missionary kid, light blue eyes, pale pink skin that doesn't tan unless you count red a tan, and dark brown hair that looks black unless the sun hits it just right, so probably literal caucasian? /shrug
truth be told i've never really had much interest in what race i was, or what other people were, growing up. which of course, has caused problems for me, since i was confused about the BLM movement at first and why it actually mattered at first, and also i was completely blind to just how seriously fucking holyshitballs canwejustredohumanity bad racism was in america (and granted, the world in general) because i was naive enough to assume the best in people; that people generally treated other people with respect and without paying so much damn attention to how much melatonin they had. (like seriously, why does it even matter in conversation "so this guy, this black guy, and two white chicks came up to me and blah blah blah..." WHO THE FUCK CARES ABOUT THAT.)
i dunno, maybe it's just me, but i think it's ridiculous. a lot of the time that black person's from south american descent, for instance. totally different culture from africa. (and which part of africa are we talking about here?) which is a totally different culture from...america. you know, which is where a lot of black people are from. which has a diverse culture of it's own - Socal and southern Georgia - don't get them mixed up. a mistake can be fatal. pretty standard incomprehensible psion post
im saying that a persons skin color is absolute shit for trying to understand anything about them. asking them where they grew up is probably a far more reliable method, as the local culture has a much bigger influence on how you act as a person. so it bugs me when people try using skin color as a descriptive when talking about an event that happened, as if that somehow paints a good picture of "black person" and "white person" acting out in your minds eye. all it does is reinforce stereotypical imagery and make accidental racism worse. i'm not talking about outright racism, but people treating people of another race as "different" and their kids seeing that and thinking that's ok and carrying that on to the next generation.
Seriously what are you talking about
