My E celeb bubble is pretty small, I guess.

There's more potential sexual predators than your mind could fathom. Its simply that most would not act upon those desires even with power. Some, however, like this guy, will act upon them the second they obtain power.

Thinking bad thoughts is never a crime. Acting on those bad thoughts absolutely is. More people than you know have bad thoughts constantly, alongside their good ones. People are people. The bad ones are the ones that act.

Yay, another sociopath that everyone idolizes! Mayhaps we should choose our heroes better, because this shit happens way, WAY too often on the internet for this to be some little blip on the radar.

This is more about the friends of the individual and adults that are fans, moreso than the kids that idolize these people. Kids always want to be adults, and will always gravitate towards someone who shows them any acknowledgement. How many of his friends were suspicious or knew, but did nothing? That's the real question.

You can be a fan of someone/entertained by them without idolizing them. The truth is that he was in the public eye for nearly a decade before anything came to light. That's a long time to fall into a level of comfort with a personality you might not even know personally. You've been acting like it should have been obvious that this was coming despite the fact that the people he worked with (again, for almost a decade) had no idea. That's easy to do when you have the benefit of hindsight.
