So sublime sushi sells constantly...I don't understand why the boat doesn't have more people on it fishing up gugru tuna

You can get them from the Mog Garden too. Could be they have tons of mules doing the garden? Crafting is one of the biggest cheating rings in FFXI, I wouldn't doubt theres some sketchy things going behind every popular craft.
How much evasion do the Eschan Puks and Eschan Shadow Dragons have in Zitah? I'm gearing up my BST and trying to figure out how much pet accuracy I need to shoot for.
I'm not sure I get what you're saying.
Isn't there already an HQ or force break exploit in game or has that been debunked/swept under the rug?
Nobody said anything about it being wrong or right. He asked a question and its a possible answer, exploits. Stop trying so hard, also that level of cheating with exploits effects everything in the game. It doesn't matter how old it is as people are still paying and playing it.
Yes and it is still out there, SE has banned a few people but the exploit is on-going as they don't have the resources to even update the game this month. The price of most crafted items has shot up quite dramatically as a result.
If you are interested in seeing any up to date info related to FFXI you're better off posting and reading ffxiah, most people have stopped coming to this site for people like the above two posters.
SE is an embarrassing company, they've known about this for over 60 days, any real company would be handling this as an incident. and anything less than a 24hr response would be unacceptable.
be ashamed of that which you white knight
I don't white knight them and have openly criticized them many times. What they are doing now is really bad, including charging full sub price for a month that they won't even change out ambuscade. It's incredibly lazy and they use the virus as an excuse. As far as this exploit, I would agree it is incredible how they have done nothing so far. I have always said they care very little for the game and don't put resources into it. I have no idea where you think I'm a white knight for SE just because I love the game.
Even without this particular exploit, Crafting has been the domain of botters/exploiters since before I left the game at least and SE never gave any indication that they cared. You guys act like SE is failing to respond to an acute crisis because you just found out about it.
Furthermore, the effect you're complaining about (rising prices) is presumably due to SE responding to the exploit by banning the exploiters. They probably don't even have the infrastructure to monitor the exploit directly, let alone a dev that will learn and fix the crafting system's logic for them, but they are attempting to discourage the behavior likely by banning accounts with improbable numbers of rare crafts.
I'm sure the "we're 6 people and none of us are devs" interview was intended to set expectations a bit and honestly I wonder whether this month's update was pushed because 3 of them are spending all their time figuring out who is exploiting.
They are definitely banning for sending the synth packet twice to cancel the synth and detecting for it so I disagree with most of what you said, although I understand you're just hypothesizing.
Prices also aren't really rising. The picture I posted in spam of someone selling 30 aurg orb +1s for 75m is about 30% or what the object is worth, and half of what it was a week ago. Prices are going up on su5 but probably only because of fear from buyers not sellers.
They are not banning for the secondary method though which is even easier to detect imo.
Also if they have 3 people looking at this and still are failing to ban the biggest abusers.. oh boy
I don't know what the exploit is and on the server I'm on prices aren't crazy. I did notice something really weird regarding a price on something and maybe it has to do with in a way the person saying if I can't sell it high (because now others can get these HQ all the time) no one can. Let's just say an item had it's first sales by the same person. First two were 500m. Then something like 300m. Then 150m. And the item was selling. So why did they keep cutting their own price by quite a bit? Doesn't make sense to me.
i'd say you have to be living underneath a rock to not notice the effects on asura, smaller servers are obviously sheltered from the asura effect though as 90% of whats sold is on asura, especially in the last couple weeks but even before then it was very noticeable.
people have had this exploit for 4-5 years, maybe longer, it became pretty widespread when snaps forgot to comment out a "jiggle" line in his crafts addon.
why the windower and ffxiah team allow so much shit to be exposed/used/known is beyond me. even script kiddies like me can find incredibly game breaking exploits
Most of them are probably like you and the previous poster, they don't care. "dumb old game" etcwhy the windower and ffxiah team allow so much shit to be exposed/used/known is beyond me. even script kiddies like me can find incredibly game breaking exploits
Is it a shock that they won't intervene when these things are being used? I don't know why you like to pretend like you have some arcane knowledge of the deep SeCreTs of FFXI. Most that have been around a while or are well into the scene know of all this stuff and people who abuse it. I've known someone whos had a similar version for years now and didn't even play the game yet constantly sold crafted items, most likely to RMT. The game has had exploits since day one, once they're discovered another one will pop out later.
I just find it funny that now 3+ people have already rephrased what I said earlier and goons didn't come to quote them with something stupid. Crafting has always been filled with cheats lol.
i haven't been in on any of the major exploits and haven't found any or done anything with any of them, you're right.
all of them have been around since the beginning of the game so that's a clear fallacy in your understanding, it's just windower releasing packets fields/data to the general public has made it easy to find stuff and ffxiah allowing hacky addons to be posted further extrapolate the issue. this craft exploit would have worked in 2002 if you knew how to do it.
recent examples of ffxiah staff being very bad:
voidwatch and the pulse cell exploit
craft addon
others
recent examples of windower staff being very bad:
letting any packet mapping related knowledge out, they should have kept it within the team but my guess is they didn't realize how poorly secured the game was when they started to compile all that information
recent examples of SE being bad:
every day since 2011
you're dumb and blind and always looking for an argument though
I dont look for arguments, angry people like you constantly try to attack me like you have nothing better to do. Then he goes with the personal attacks, youre so predictable. I literally came into the thread to answer a guys questions by saying crafting has been plagued with hacks and cheats since forever, then I get people quoting me with stupid stuff.
The ffxiah staff took down that addon post quite fast, not sure why you feel the need to attack anyone and everyone, youre so filled with hate. I wouldnt be surprised that most of the people creating addons ,and involved in all that, probably have abused the system as well.
At this point people constantly bash this game and say its dumb, dead, etc including yourself. You have people openly posting testimonial videos that circumvent game mechanics with addons, people stopped caring. Most of your examples have been within recent years, as SE stops caring about the game so do its players.
