You’re terrible. Collecting and figuring out which lure to use is half the damn fun!

Caught one of the new groupers last night on the Royal vessel. Wasn’t as bad as the liege of the lake or the devil of cygilian, but was still a pretty fun challenge nonetheless. Made it with only 400ish left on my line. Need 2 more of the new fishes to complete my collection again lol.

The most important question is have they fixed dodging yet? Cause if I still have to Warpstrike due to everything else sucking ass or just not working I can probably wait.

I thought dodging was buggy, but then I realized I have to stop holding attack or button mashing and actual watch the enemies for an attack and switch appropriately. Now I'm dodging more and finishing the fights slightly slower.

    Regroup is a godsend tho

Yes and no. It’s still about 352 startup frames in normal combat for Noctis. Under Armiger Unleashed though it’s extremely efficient. AU is also pretty generous as far as its usage goes, so you’re in that mode more often than not.

Regroup kind of felt like cheesing but I rationalized it since there doesn't appear to be any cure magic in the game, only what you can craft from potions or using potions themselves.

Yeah, even combing cure with elemental spells is lame cause the cooldown is so long and charges are so few. They're forgiving cause you can point warp and rest, but still I prefer having the ability to use freely and not be combined with elemental attack magic.

tbh that dungeon with regen clothes and accessories is a push over, spam overwhelm and you never have to worry about death because of the absurd amount of iframes.

those dungeons are also the most boring grind to the bottom ever as well, I think the dungeon to get the black cape is the best they did, sadly platforming in this game is ass so that doesn't really say much about it.

I've liked the dungeons so far. Not terribly large but have been varied so far. I'm amazing at the size of the map. Things I feel like are right down the road are still hella far. Thank god for chocobos. Also these are the best incarnation of chocobos ever hands down.

It's not just buggy it often times just flat out doesn't work, some attacks you can't dodge even when you're doing absolutely nothing. If you're trying to flow from attack to defence then chances are you're getting hit easy, but even doing absolutely nothing a lot of stronger mobs just flat out smack you and the game does (did) a terrible job of letting you know that.

Which is why Warpstrike is king, but I got tired of that kind of playstyle even if it was effective. Maybe I should stop trying to play this like an action game and just accept that I have to look lame and fight slow/boring.

That's a shame, AU sounds interesting so I might check that out and see if it improves normal gameplay.

I still got loads more enemies to try, but once I stopped mashing attack I was dodging almost everything except aoe from mechs. Even a behemoth was easy to dodge.

    Overwhelm got nerfed hard.

I don’t know how I feel about the platform, Pitoss(sp?) Ruins, dungeon. It’s either the greatest or worst dungeon in FF history. A memorable experience when all is said and done that’s for damn sure.

I feel like they also nerfed warp strikes. A lot of mobs now will bitch smack you after 3 or 4 consecutive hits with it. It seems deliberate like a fighting games anti-infinite measure built in. I don’t ever remember that being the case back in the day. You have to air dance out of the way after the 2nd or 3rd hit now if you don’t want to get bodied.

Just caught a 403lb bluefin tuna after finding Bismarck. Would’ve been bad ass if the ultimate end game fish boss was the ridiculous whale itself lol.

EDIT: wtf lol!? I had no idea Noctis had a motherfucking sniper rifle in this game lmao.

EDIT2: lmao. the timing of this! https://clips.twitch.tv/DullRockyCardKappaRoss

Shut your whore mouth. The Cup O Noodles quest is the greatest side quest in RPG history.

    Spoiler: show
The final cutscene is so god damn hilarious with how so self aware the voice actors are about the whole thing lol.
