Final Fantasy XV: Gordon Freeman/Sims: Pick Your Poison Edition

Go ahead and spam warp strikes on any decent level mob after the Royal update lol.

The argument that FFXV is easy compared to any other FF is fucking hilarious lmao. I dare anyone to tell me about a harder final fantasy so I can explain to you about a 13 year old pre-internet individual who bodied your FF7 super bosses.

After losing Gladiolus for a chapter and getting him back with a scar, I can see why people would be royally pissed such shit happened with no story explaination until a paid dlc. I have no reason to complain, but early adopters got fucked. I'll never day 1 a SE game now that I see they have no problem with this.

Hmm, all the way or is there some sweet spot?
(How silly, 1080Ti and having to turn everything down ; ; )

High should be fine. Highest seems to cause a lot of issues with system stability. All TRAM does is tell the game how much memory the game is allowed to use, but it doesn't seem very good at it when you say it can use all of your vram.

Not gonna go back and multi quote about Ardyn/Darin De Paul but yeah he's got damn impressive pipes. He also voices the Emperor in Star Wars: The Old Republic and that's where I knew him from so I immediately distrusted him lol

Decided to skip a bunch of stuff and just finish this game before I got stuck doing side quests ad naseum until I was too burned out to beat the game. Some tears were shed, especially with the credits scene. They did a good job making me care for the characters, even if I wish there was more substance to the overall plot.

Main bad guy had great voice acting, but as a main baddy he just seemed kinda eh. This was def about the journey not the end game, even though the last 2 or 3 hours was pretty damn fun.

I don't know if I should Umbra back and do all the side quests, or if I should just new game+ it. Whatcha think BG?

I umbra'd back. It's fun running around the world still although I've admittedly not put THAT many hours in.

    I got the Zwill Crossblades.

    That fight sucked cocks.

So I started playing again since I stopped playing back when they just added NG+ (this was back when Episode Gladio got announced).

Really fucking love playing as Ignis, he just fucks shit up.

Also don't know why, but I got a second magitek suit from completing Melusine (first was loading game and it giving it to me as thanks for updating), ended up trivializing Menace under Castle mark (was my last quest before I quit the game of boredom).

Gonna NG+ and see what's different.

Will I encounter all the DLC naturally while playing as well, or do I just load it from the DLC menu on the title screen?

I'm 3 chapters in now I think, it's just not grabbing me too much downtime driving around and whatnot, think maybe I am getting too old

You can just push the story, the MSQ is always available to go forward.

Well I finished it, and did the sidekick DLCs as well.

Prompto: The "overly eager and naive bro who will selflessly try to be a hero until he suffers some kind of emotional trauma and learns a valuable life lesson" dude.
Noctis: Dangerously close to Squall levels of emo/indifference in main story missions, surprisingly upbeat and helpful in side quests. Tough to get a read on him. I'm sure he'll have some epiphany moment where he resolves himself to be the hero or some such.
I feel like me from a month ago was pretty spot on with my predictions.

I don't have a lot to add other than what I'm sure has already been said. It felt like two completely different games. Open world until chapter 8, then on rails straight to the finish. I'm glad they included the option to "go back" to open world stuff, otherwise my final opinion on the game would have been very sour. As it is, it's a fine game. I don't hate it, it's pretty good, but I don't think it's quite top tier. It's certainly a beautiful game, and the facial animations were great, particularly for Ardyn. I'd like to say that I HATED chapter 13 & 14, almost to the point of quitting the game. The dramatic shift in gameplay really turned me off. I'm glad I stuck through, but I don't see myself ever playing through those sections again.

For the 3 episodes I say:

Gladiolus: More hack & slash from the base game. It was fine. I don't know if I would buy it seperately but it was included in the version I bought, so meh.

Prompto: I give them credit for trying something pretty different from the main game, but I wasn't a fan. It felt like it was trying to shoehorn a 3rd person shooter into the framework of the game and I don't think it worked very well at all.

Ignis: My favorite of the three DLCs. Ignis felt like a damned OP god and makes me think he should have been the hero of his own story. I liked the alternate verse as well, a neat "what if" scenario. Lots of feels.

And yes I ended up spending too much time on fishing despite being a survivor of FFXI fishing hell. I went 1/1 on fishing up the Devil of the Cygillan in about 7 minutes. Suck it, nerds.

    I give it a solid 7.5 out of 10.

Welp, DLC done by the same guy who was in charge of episode Ignis. And they're basically just adding in a ton of plot in areas I was hoping they'd add in a ton of plot. Please take my money ._.
