I'm aware...
Quick question. I'm finally going back to play this as I got massively sidetracked, and am now starting over. I have just the day one edition from when the game came out. What's the most efficient way to get all the DLC expansion. Would it just be buying the royal edition upgrade + Episode Ardyn, or do I also have to buy the season pass to get the other character episodes?
Yeah, if you're getting the Royal Pack upgrade then you also need to buy season pass for the 3 dudes episodes
Ugh, that's what I was afraid of. Oh well. It will probably be a couple of weeks before I cross that road. Want to actually beat the game first.
I don't do much gaming on my PC besides FPS/RTS games. Plus I need to replace my computer chair. I may just buy the season pass and Ardyn DLC as I mainly want the scenarios. No interest in multiplayer. So not sure what else royal edition gives that season pass + ardyn misses out on.
Probably best to wait for a sale on royal edition. I think I saw it for $25 during the holidays?

Basically you miss all of this. It's an extra 15$. Plus season pass for 19$ or whatever it is now... PC version comes with both those packs baked in. Ep Ardyn will still have to be bought for 9.99$ no matter which version you have.
So looking at that, I'm assuming Insomnia City Ruins is a dungeon. No interest in the FPS view, or the new fishing spots, so nothing major there. Forgot to mention also my PC is pushing 5 years old and was a mid level system when I built it. I've heard some horror stories of FFXV being fairly taxing. So yeah, may just do the season pass and ardyn unless I see a discount on PSN cards which sometimes come out.
Unless I'm misreading something, buying another physical royal edition for 19.99 cones with all the scenario dlc except ardyn. That may be the way to go

Yes, the Royal Edition does include the season pass. Doesn't need to be physical too I think. You just want the Royal Edition full game, not the Royal Pack upgrade in that case
Saw this pop on my recommended Youtube list. I'm subbed to a few other FF youtubers and no one has mentioned this that I saw.
tl;dr
Lunafreya was going to be resurrected by Bahamut with demonic powers similar to Ardyn. Her episode was going to focus around this. Episode Noctis was going to follow Noctis, Ardyn, Luna, and Aranea (no word on her episode or why shes involved with this) as they battled Bahamut, the true villain of the game. The ending would include Ardyn getting a proper burial and being recognized as the founder of Lucis instead of his brother. Noctis and Luna would go on to have children and live happy.
Too bad they cut the episodes. Maybe they'll learn their lesson and not cut story shit next time, but who are we kidding.
Nah they'll keep firing people who try to salvage shit..I mean people will "go on to different things" sooner than they would stop with their asinine design philosophy. There was literally 0 reason to cut these DLCs entirely from coming out.
Man if all of these things had been in one long narrative instead of piecemeal DLCs + scrapped content this would've been an epic game.
This popped up on Xbox Game Pass so I decided to give it a shot. Anyone have a workaround for the stutter problem when accepting controller input? I see the "Special K" mod fixes it for the steam version, but apparently it cannot be installed on the Windows Store version (directory is unwriteable).
I've never heard of that problem before. I have a ryzen 2700x, 16gb ram, gtx1070, and used the steam version, and I had no issues aside from frame rate stuff during scenes with many characters on screen when the settings are on max.
This is a lame suggestion, but is vsync on? If so, try it off.

VSync is off. It is very definitively a problem with controller input. Every time I press an input on the controller, the game lags/stutters momentarily. Doesn't matter if it is joystick or button input. Only other noticeable idiosyncrasy is that the button labels in the onscreen guides keep going back to keyboard/mouse labels and only show controller labels WHILE the controller is sending input. As soon as the input from the controller stops, the label goes back to keybd./mouse. (wired DualShock 4 controller that works perfectly in other games)
You have something constantly inputting some kind of keyboard/mouse input if the problem is continuous.
Are you use xpadder or one of those DS4 to Xinput programs with the controller? That would probably be what's causing it.
