It should be. Nothing more annoying when you can't tell tge active element in P4 and 5/8 people die from the point blank thunder

Just let the effect filter options work for LB again like it used to in the good ol' days.
Not everyone is gonna be doing fixed parties for those goals, so it falls to matched parties to agree on their goals
I disagree with the argument that it is "cute" or amusing to see someone playing a video game poorly or making mistakes. It is important to remember that everyone is at different skill levels and may be learning the game as they go.
Instead of finding amusement in someone else's mistakes, it would be more productive to offer helpful advice and support.
Additionally, it is not fair to criticize someone for not having the best gear or not knowing how to do a certain boss, as everyone has their own pace and style of play.
A few nitpicks.
1. The blacklist function apparently being broken since they implemented server travel
2. The avatar/pet size options being a text command but nothing in the system/character settings
Kind of sad that XIV has become so mid, it's not even worth complaining about anymore
The only complaint I have right now is the constant ddos making few people want to do instanced content
I've pretty much been in the one sub or two per expansion cycle at this point, and even before that, I only did ARR launch and stayed out until shortly before Shadowbringers. As nice as chasing the MSQ may be, for me, they have yet to legitimately develop content I feel is "for me" when it comes to long-term interest. Of course, this is before getting into the mediocrity of gearing, the annoyances of rotations, how your SOL if your dream class doesn't play how you like, etc.. I have zero interest wiping in current content for hours with strangers because failures not being my own has always been a major gaming peeve. Currency caps will also forever annoy the fuck out of me.
Still, this is basically every fucking MMO right now unless you want to open the cash shop floodgates with the KR versions. And at that point you're basically getting shit story for imbalanced PvP, maybe. Maybe one day we'll get an MMO that remembers what the RPG is and not just prioritizing retention mechanics.
It really was the MSQ carrying my interest all along, plus a resurgence during the pandemic era due to having fuckall else to do.
I can't deal with the simon-says combat, class homogenization, and dungeons all being just differently-skinned hallways anymore, plus they keep finding ways to take the social experience out of the game.
Seems like it's too tall of an order to get a low skill floor/high skill cap online RPG with just the right balance of QOL to force social interaction in-game. That first 'M' of MMO isn't carrying a lot of weight these days.
My friend is trying to get me back into XI but apparently it's majority solo/"solo"(multiboxing) content now. Meh. I want the kind of twisted and persistent social ecosystem that gave rise to Youtube diss tracks.
XI's a shell of itself yeah you need alts and preferably a couple friends with the same to really enjoy it. I've been gone since 2018 and it was already like that at that point.
I'd hop back in if I had friends playing that wanted to take it somewhat seriously, otherwise the game's just nothing doing.
It's also just fucking expensive. To play the way I prefer is something like $45/mo.
I was 4 boxing the last I played and that was just barely enough to allow me to do most everything comfortably on my own, that was like.. 2018~2019.
