This movie contributed mostly nothing to the overall MCU. It was fine, enjoyable and was not a slog, I mostly enjoyed it. But calling it upper tier of all MCU? I Disagree. But opinions gonna opinion. OT Fagbenle served literally 0 purpose and felt wasted.

When the explosions shoot past the suspension of disbelief and contradict a major plot point.

    Spoiler: show
she's not an mutant, not a super soldier, has no super powers etc. You compared it to atomic blonde when it was nothing like atomic blonde. Charlize's character actually slowed down and limped after fights. Black Widow is eating car bombings, multi-story falls, thrown through walls, roll over accidents with cars flying down stairs and across roadways without a scratch but she breaks her nose slamming her head on the desk. Black Widow happened all within a week. Her nose should've been broken multiple times well before that scene.

I understand you like comics and marvel but you have to admit this movie jumped the shark and was horribly flawed. If this wasn't a marvel film you'd definitely say pause, a lot of this doesn't make sense.

I would not, because I didn't. I legitimately do not agree with a single one of your points.

Like the stuff you are harping on is ridiculous to me. And people freezing frames to find stuff to be upset about it is borderline sad. I'm sorry these take place in a universe with magic rocks and killer robots and space gods and you think the explosion physics are too inconsistent.

    Spoiler: show
She's none of those and has the protection of none of those. All the magical stuff and gods etc are fine. She was treated as one of those beings with her plot armor. Not a scratch or even a limp by the end of the movie. It was giving Megan Fox in Transformer.

People pointing these inconsistencies out is because regular individuals exist in this universe as well and the cool thing about them is that they keep up with these super-powered humans and inhuman beings all while being regular humans. Black Widow threw that out the window for her.

This is an incredibly tiny nitpick/continuity question:
    Spoiler: show
Why did she need a Quinjet in the end? Cap and Bucky had one at the end of Civil War which was presumably the one that she, Cap, and Falcon were cruising the world in between Civil War and Infinity War. Did they just park one on a roof somewhere?

    Not really when
    Spoiler: show
she breaks her nose to kill the bad guy. And nothing she did up until that point broke her nose? That's bullshit.

Milkster didnt like the movie because most of the widows were black girls, and despite being highly trained assassins, widows were also slaves under mind control by a rich and powerful white man.

    Prove me wrong.

I am going to go see it next weekend. I wanted to wait till the reviews came in and what the average person thought. Looks like we have a winner!

Certified Fresh on RT 80% with over 300 critics reviews and a crazy high Audience score of 92% with over 2,500.

Got out seeing it, enjoyed it, Milkster is full of shit on Scar Jo phoning in her performance.

As others said, you could skip it and wouldn't impact the MCU, but as its own movie with a bit of origin touched, it was really good.

And yeah, mid credit scene was great.

Credits were weird. They didnt have the initial part where they do director, etc and the main actors, then cut to the full credits....it just went full credits which i dont think MCU has done before

She was underuser, yeah, but that's because Taskmaster wasn't the real villain. I think the main point of Taskmaster in this movie was to introduce her as a character so they can use her later. It's obvious they're building up the Thunderbolts team in the MCU, and Taskmaster is likely to be on that team together with Baron Zemo, U.S Agent and possibly Yelena.

I actually agree with Milkster on a lot of things, but the movie was still pretty good.

    Spoiler: show
She was a goddamn tank in this movie, and I did miss her feeling a bit more human. She survived way too much. And Taskmaster was boring af, great concept that they really didn't do anything with. The other thing that bothered me was Ross showing up in Russia at the end. Like, a fucking city is falling out of the sky, and the secretary of defense is just driving up (how did he even know she was there) ignoring everything just to arrest one person. And then she's just.... free to roam the world after that? Super fucking weird.

That said. She was great. Her family was great. Action was great. Seeing people still leave the theater as soon as the credits start rolling, 357 movies in, is goddamn hilarious.

I think its important to look at this movie not really as a Natasha backstory. But as a Yelena Origin story. Which is why it was released in phase 4 and not when it actually takes place chronologically.

    Spoiler: show
Her nose had to be broken and unset while fighting the bad guy. Breaking it earlier and resetting it would have been pointless. and the only time she was hit at that point in the final area was by the old man.

As far as people still waking out of the theaters before the credits end, if I had to pee really bad, or had some kids I just wanted to get home, the little bit they show isn’t usually worth the long wait when you can just read a spoiler and not miss anything.

Regarding the first point she mentioned
    Spoiler: show
    activating a tracker

Regarding the second I'm pretty sure he meant that the damage she should have sustained from earlier action/fights would have broken something, and that as a result it seemed inconsistent, not that she should have literally done it earlier. Doesn't ruin the movie or anything, but I get the complaint that her being overly tanky does slightly undermine the whole "normal nonpowered human" element.

    Spoiler: show
She says outright when they're in the Red Room that she activated her tracker so Ross can find her.

Also Yelena makes fun of her at one point because of how banged up she is and comments on how her super-powered teammates probably don't need pain killers after a fight

In light of all the Mission Impossible, Jason Bourne, Fast and Furious, James Bond, and other assorted action/spy film franchises out there, I guess I simply do not understand the issue people are having with Natasha surviving things that seem unrealistic.

On a final, general point, this movie was a send-off for Natasha and an introduction for Yelena and Taskmaster. If you wanted to see more of them and felt like this one movie wasn't enough, good, that means mission accomplished for Marvel because you'll pay to see the next things they show up in.
