Sept 27 - Duskmourn (Eight fucking weeks later)
Nov 15 - Foundation (SEVEN Fucking weeks later. we get a new core set, that won't rotate out until 2029. Maybe longer.)

Same. I sold half my collection a little bit ago so I could buy a steam deck but that was it. It was mostly big bulk boxes I hadn't looked at in 10-15 years. Guy complained about the boxes being bulk even though I warned him in writing and in person they were probably bulk.

tl;dr: Kai Budde has cancer and it doesn't look good. They're renaming the PotY award in honor of him. He plans to keep playing as long as he can.

Pretty sad for those of us who grew up watching him dominate tournaments. He's also only 44.

3 year Standard rotations (with Foundations legal until 2029 minimum), and now 6 standard set releases a year, with Universe Beyond sets now Standard legal.
That is entirely to much fucking product. Unless they're dropping sets to 100-150 cards...

I'll spend the next year saying goodbye, I'll give Final Fantasy a pass because hey, this is BG and do Edge of Eternities
But when that Marvel set comes out, I'm done, and shan't be back until they pull their head out of their ass.

I just want a Shantotto card in the set.

I'll be the devil's advocate for Universes Beyond. I like them because they draw in new players, but more importantly, it makes sets much easier to skip when I don't care about the IP. lol They're releasing way too much, too fast these days.

Edit: It wasn't posted yet, but the product site for Final Fantasy has some art previews and it looks like it will be great. There's a character from 14 already shown as well.

The variant arts look great.

• They spent 4 years on the set and worked with SE to get things right. The card previews were great. People losing their minds over Jumbo Cactuar, they either love it or hate it.
  
• The Commander decks only include cards from that specific game, so 6, 7, 10 & 14.
  
• Main set covers 1-16, spinoff games (X-2 was the example given) not included. Chances are good that if you're hoping for a specific character/card that is popular, it will be included. Buster Sword was confirmed.
  
• Bonus sheet cards (think Special Guests in recent sets) will use old Final Fantasy art. They showed an Amano Ancient Copper Dragon and Nomura Yuffie (as Yuriko).
  
• Chocobos (plural!) will have a Landfall theme.
  
• They did a great job (imo) with Summons being Saga creatures.
  
• Sidequests as flip cards is pretty neat.
  
• MSRP pricing sucks if Amazon pricing is correct. $210 for a Play Booster box ($7/pack), $455 for a Collector box ($38/pack). Assuming this is because of SE licensing fees. Commander decks being $70/$150 for normal/collector is fine imo since that's what 40k was.

I'm really enjoying everything I'm seeing and you can tell they put a lot of effort into this to get it right.

The set is an absolute win based solely on the Jumbo Cactuar card.

It's honestly a pretty bad card, but the design is so amazingly on point and will lead to some hilarious situations since people will absolutely build decks for it

I care about Cecil and that's it. Wish he got two cards because I'd really like to play him in white and white mixes, but I get it. My color preferences goes

If FF cards are not just commander and make it into standard, he'll only see play in my orzhov decks. Which is ultra-unfortunate I don't see Esper decks being viable any time soon in standard, but we'll see. There are no other combinations I can play him in.
