The problem isn't the (admittedly foolish) hope (hope is what gets companies like EA and Activision their fucking profits) that SF6 will be good. Its the hilarious disagreement on what constitutes "good". Look at the opinions in here. No matter WHAT 6 is, it will be hated by a bunch of tribalistic fucks that can't get over their 14-year-old selves. Chances are the game will be another "live service" lagfest that is designed from the ground up to prop up a dying physical arcade scene in Japan and fuck the rest of the world, so yeah, there's a very good chance that it will blow outside of a now-niche audience.
I'll come back to Street Fighter as a series when it either:
A) Stops marketing specifically to Japan's arcade scene, or
B) Gives the rest of the world a discount on the price because it runs sub-optimally for everyone else not living in Japan, because the game was never designed to work well outside of it.
