Most of that stuff has been removed. There is some still remaining though. I’m documenting everything. I knew about the general hazards of asbestos before. But last year, I went through a Firefighter recruit program, and that opened my eyes even more, so now, I’m tracking everything.
Its honestly less safe to leave it like that than to have brand new insulation made of asbestos. What makes it dangerous is how easily it frays, and how small the fibers become after fraying. Literally can't see the worst offending fibers without a microscope.
Doing a poss poor job of remediation leaves behind too many opportunities for the remaining asbestos to fray dangerously, leaving fibers to fall down or be kicked up when walking around that area. If you walk around there frequently, then beware.
Fyi your local environmental lab can test for all that jazz. Not that you need a test to know that insulation labeled asbestos is actually asbestos, but they can also measure the air quality and see if it's been contaminated with fibers. Just to give you an idea of what can be done, and what should be done until the situation is 100% remediated.
