In all seriousness, if the Matrix rolled up on me and said I could live in a VR world of my choosing, just real me would become a battery for whatever the fuck they'd use the juice for, I'd say to sign me up. Reality had its chance and a few people just keep ruining it for everyone.

I had something like this in mind, but of course not as ghetto, and probably not dreams, but similar concept. In the film here I recall the guy in the picture standing up these people rather dream away because their real life isn't worth living.

IDK if this is the right article, but basically they were doing some VR stuff with Mice and determined they could teach mice to navigate mazes using just their brain. Essentially the test involved them "Running" the maze first on a little ball in "VR" and tracking their brain activity, then taking away their ability to move entirely and seeing if the mouses brain activity/memory could still get them to the end of the maze and it did, the mouse was able to make it to the food.
