Hype, though I pray to God they fix their shitty match-making system. Everything aside from that, and the original gambling interface for sigils, was pure joy to play-through, especially if you every played the browser game.

Oh snap, Fraux and Feidel.
I forgot this was coming out, but Arcana was not too long before I left GBF. The music was baller too, and it looks like that song is going to be a boss theme.
ugh I don't want to make room to redownload this damnit
Is this a competent single player game? I don't think I have any interest in grinding the endgame online but I never played it when it originally came out and I still wondered if it's something I could get some fun out of solo.
There's even auto-farm, if you're strong enough, if you want to let it do that while you do something else. Multi-player is straight up faster though, and unless you over-power it, I don't know if you could farm Bahamut or Lucilius, but if you did, you probably wouldn't be in there to begin with. Their horrible match-making system is what made me eventually quit, and the Open Beta has had it's issue still. Over-all though, it's a banger of a game if you like a monster-hunter style gameplay.
I was feeling reluctant about coming back to a game after such a long time, but launched the DLC demo today and it just reminded me how fun is this to play
This is a drug and I'll be OD'ing on it. Sadly it's weekend soon and I'll be away unable to play more ;(
Is it easy to hop back into the endgame? I booted my save but was just overwhelmed since I forgot everything lol was debating just starting a new game so I can ease into it
I specifically started playing a couple days before to refresh my memory. Wasn't too hard to get back into the groove, I'd say the worst part was remembering all the progression systems - what sigils are good, how to upgrade weapons etc. One thing to consider is that depending on when you stopped playing, you might not be able to jump straight into DLC content, as your power level might be too low. But there's also a new option to use other people's characters (think pawns in Dragon's Dogma), if you manage to snag some beefy character they might help carry you.
It does seem much easier to catch up now with the whole rogue like mode they added offering a ton of upgrade materials and stuff for weapons and sigils. Terminus weapons also seem to be craftable now instead of just relying on pure RNG of them dropping.
I played the story of the original and stopped there. Do I need to "catch up" in terms of farming or am I good to go with the expansion?
So I was pretty deep in endgame in vanilla and started a brand new game up. I just got to the desert place and the roguelike mode opened up to me which only requires 1500PWR to start so that portion is definitely beginner level. The rest, I believe, is more aligned towards endgame but yeah look at the roguelike surveys and they should get you caught up pretty fast as they give a buttload of upgrade materials
They don't do a very good job on bringing you back in from the original game. It all feels very dis-jointed, though the combat is slowly coming back to me. I've also mostly forgotten why my sigil loadouts are they way they are.
Yeah, it felt like coming back to a gacha game after it's been out for a few years and just thrown all this shit. I'm sticking to my new-game so I can try out different characters in a more steady pace. Although, I just end up gravitating towards my boy, Vane
So, apparently, six boss gauntlets are part of the pool in quick quest. Turns out, that's not so quick.
*edit*
And of course, when I unlock it, shit can't get completed. the hell.
Ookay, I'm done with this. It is extremely un-fun to have constant one-shots despite having 3x the HP and vastly more "DPS" yet still watching shit die slower than paint drying, and having quests fail. They really botched this one to the point I regret buying this.
