F1 2027 schedule released. 10 fucking sprint weekends. Season opener, Monaco, and the season end to boot.
I hate sprints so fucking much
I don't fully hate it for Monaco since qualifying is the most interesting part and a sprint weekend effectively means 2 qualifiers
Monaco will also effectively have 2 parades. One without any change in position from flag to finish with the lack of pit stops.
It cheapens the intensity of Monaco's make or break quali. It makes Monaco worse for people that hate Monaco, and it makes Monaco worse for people that love Monaco quali (me). Monaco quali is literally the highlight of the year for me. Yes, two qualis, but the peak now reduced and flattened in an excuse to extend a plateau.
I also hate how it's just the race, lite. It removes any intrigue for the next days race cause it already happened. You already know the teams strengths and weaknesses and it's just more of the same

Max vs 100 in go karts. Race start was glorious at the timestamp here - https://youtu.be/jl8YQuAtJtQ?si=1FxOYVIa17mINcoZ&t=215
Gratz to Kimi Antonelli for being the youngest ever to win the WDC.
Ocon got told to kick bricks this weekend after some sort of conflict after Friday's FP2 marking the F1 Debut of Ryo Hirakawa for Haas.
Yamaha pulled their riders out of the Qatar Moto GP. 19 of 22 riders have allegedly refused to race in Qatar. FIM have threatened to suspend any rider for the remainder of the season (Portimao and Valencia) if they skip Qatar.
Also had Max and Lawson beefing after FP3, Max and Lando beefing after QP, Liam DQ'd from qualifying, and Hadjar shoving a fan.
Hectic weekend in Mexico all around.
And Hirakawa getting a point with a P10 finish. Piastri, Gasly, and Colapinto all got penalties. Hirakawa now has more points than Bottas and Perez for the entire season.
To his credit, Lawson also finished 7th after starting from the pits because his DQ from qualifying.
Also George being butthurt about losing the Driver's Championship and leaving the track without doing any of his post race media, lol.
He's upset about that, but also his car was sabotaged all year long. Can't tell me they aren't deprioritizing his car when it's constantly just lacking in power, especially on race starts like in Mexico and Spa. Not even driver error, just straight "why does the car not go zoom?"

George is just really unlucky with all these reliability issues and deployment mismanagements.

Yes...?
Why would a team trying to win the constructors sabotage their own driver?
Eh, I was joking when I say sabotaged, but it is an outlier that the works team veteran driver faces the lions share of the reliability and deployment issues meanwhile the golden child apprentice has earned the number 1 spot that he secretly had all season to begin with. Definitely unlucky, but also unlikeable so nobody is too bothered for him. It buggars belief that he isn't finishing second, third, and maybe not even 4th in the championship, considering antonelli is likely gonna finish the season +120 points clear of everyone else.
