It's supposed to mean the best of the best is on the grid yet it lets people like Mazepin and Latifi grab a seat.

What is extra frustrating is F1 doesn't care about ovals. If you take ovals out of the equation, Herta skates in with ease. The problem is not really F1 in this instance, but the FIA. They undervalue every racing sport that is not formula a ridiculous amount. IndyCar is certainly way more rigorous than F2. Anyone that spent time in F2 and moved to it will tell you the same. It's pathetic honestly.

Let’s hope Vegas is good, one thing about early scheduled races is the fight for the earlier points. Something i appreciated about Nascar’s Miami race no longer being the final race but like in the early season is that everyone fights, not just the top 4 and everyone just strolls around safely.

Fuck it, Miami and Ft Lauderdale was a party zone for the race weekend, even if only tangentially with so many people just being out already. A 1AM race sounds like a recipe for late night club shenanigans that I am 100% down for; a riverfront bar/outdoor club threw a little thing for the Miami GP so Id imagine theyd do something similar for a late night race in SinCity.

So I missed all the drama until hearing it mentioned while watching qualifying today, but apparently the FIA is announcing on Wednesday two teams that exceeded the cost cap in 2021, and speculation is that one of them was Red Bull who were apparently way over (the other team is believed to be Aston Martin).

As would be expected, Toto and Binotto are calling for super harsh penalties

In more serious news on the NASCAR side of things, scary shit happened during the truck race today. Jordan Anderson gets cooked when his engine blows. Nearly gets crushed when he's trying to gtfo of the car while it's drifting into the wall and half his body is out the window.

I’m not too knowledgable on the level of protection these suits/helmet are compared to F1, but considering Romain got cooked in his car for practically a minute after his accident in Bahrain and ended up with less burns on his body. To have his face burned had to have way more to the accident.
