Shocked he stayed this long just on the lack of talent for an f1 car. Once he started racking up repair bills I figured he'd be out of the team that is strapped for cash and trying to turn it around. Lucky he made it this far, nice guy but just straight isn't competitive in this sport.

Bernd putting it into the wall is hilarious in context but I'm glad he and the other folks were ok. As the comments pointed out, he knew he was carrying too much speed from cooked brakes and popped into a slide as the only way to shed speed before slamming. Credit to him that he didn't flip.

Was fiddling around with Fast-F1 (https://github.com/theOehrly/Fast-F1) and historic data. Something is not adding up. Merc, Ferrari, McLaren are faster than they were the year before. Even Williams and AM are faster than they were last year. Red Bull however is actually slower. Max's lap time consistency since Canada at the very least are still tight, but the times are still not on the delta for how other teams improved.

I'm waiting for the news article a year or two from now revealing some illegal shit RB was doing that got killed causing this absolute drop in performance. I know they reset, but it's been ridiculous.

Rumor is they had some braking technology that slowed the wheels down at different speeds, but the rumor also died quickly so who knows
