Are they really not even considering Darnold? He seems like the clear #1 and beyond that everything is up for debate, other than idiots who think Lamar Jackson is going to be a successful NFL QB.

Mayfield literally just told the press/Chargers that he should have spent more time reviewing the Chargers playbook, before they interviewed him, but he "had a lot on his plate". Mayfield and Jackson will get GMs fired; I would avoid at all costs.

I'd rather have Mike White than Jackson...

There's plenty of argument against Darnold at #1, he had a ton of TOs last year.

I'd rather have Jackson over Allen but you'd have to tailor your offense to him.

I'd take Mayfield before any of the other QBs. I don't care if he didn't spend enough time reviewing the playbook of a random team that probably won't have a chance to pick him. The guy had to walk-on at Texas Tech and work his way up, I'm not worried about his work ethic.

The only chance Mayfield has is if he falls to a currently successful team that has a QB already in place for the next 2-3 years. If the Browns take him, it will be a disaster for both sides. The Browns should prioritize pairing Chubb with Myles Garrett. That would be nasty.

Regarding Allen, accuracy isn't something that is very teachable. If you don't have it by the end of college, you aren't going to magically gain it in the NFL.

Darnold and Rosen are the only 2 I would even consider with a top pick.

I don't think he is mature and he is short. Drew Brees, Wilson, etc, but those are the exceptions, not the norm. I would be happy with taking him, toward the end of the 1st round. I would be very happy landing him in the second. He is going in the Top 5/6, and I would never want to risk that high of a pick on him. I would take him over Allen though.

Edit: Regarding the Browns taking him specifically, they a mess from ownership down. I don't think the necessities are in place for him to succeed there: competent front office, competent head coach, competent coaching staff, stability (the coaching staff will be fired by 2019).

Fair enough. Personally, he passes all of the major things I look for as an armchair scout: production, accuracy, experience, leadership, arm talent.

I don't care about his height. To me, if it didn't matter in college it won't matter in the NFL.

I like Rosen but worry about his escapability and durability. He's my #2. Darnold is solid, I think he could go either way. The love for Allen boggles my mind.

I think Rosen, Darnold, and Mayfield will all have some kind of success in the NFL depending on the team they land. Maybe Lamar but he needs to sit behind someone for a year imo. He'll be a tough sell out the gate.

Allen needs to sit for like 3 'cause I got no faith in him.
