That's not surprising at all. I didn't know they were selling the rest so soon but I have no idea how early presales usually are on anything. Regardless, that's awesome.

If anything will stop shenanigans, it's this, right?:

Besides the ones that are frequently mentioned as possibilities to join them, there's a lot of people on this tour who have fulfilled their obligations in the undercard tag matches by that point.

Dammit G1, I'm not supposed to feel feelings in a random trios match.

I know, right? The whole undercard was really good. Also, White + R3K as a team I think is my favorite combination through 18 nights, better than when he was in a tag team with Best Friends during Honor Rising or whatever or when he'd be with Goto, Tacos, and Okada and he'd be disgusted by all of them doing that group cheer/pose. Related, but Yoh, Sho, and Tacos should have listened to their leader in that tag match the show before White/Tacos. Young Bucks, Golden Lovers, Chase, and Marty all doing Umbrella Man's taunt during the match together last night was perfect.

Kenny lied. Didn't he say that if they ever had a match, someone would die? Nobody did, but it sure seemed like they tried to make that happen. Those two are crazy.

The whole show was good, except for the Tama Tonga match, but they killed it in those last three matches.

I've been skipping every Tama match, they've pretty much all been garbage this entire G1.

Finish to Naito and ZSJ was freaking awesome, and Ibushi and Kenny was dope. Hopefully there's a not G1 match between them (so no 30 minute time limit) around the corner.

Edit : in regards to Kenny and Kota not trying to kill each other, then wtf was this move?

    Spoiler: show

Or the stomp near the end?

Yeah, those two spots you mentioned were the main ones I was thinking of. There might have been an apron spot too?

All in all, did it meet expectations? Probably and then some, for me at least. I would have been happy with basically an "appetizer". They did enough that the match holds up on its own merits, while probably leaving enough out that there's still plenty of shit they could wait to do until a major show.

Yeah Kenny did the apron spot pretty early on.

Edit : also Ishii and SANADA was awesome, especially the final few minutes. Ishii was potatoing SANADA so fucking hard with some of those lariats.

Randy Orton about to get #MeToo’ed after...now follow me on this:

A post this week on Reddit
    About a podcast from 2012
Detailing an alleged incident from 2005

Allegedly Randy was greeting the new TV writers by whipping out his dick, rubbing his hand on it, and giving the writer’s shit when they refused to shake his dick-hand.

If WWE starts holding shit against their wrestlers for what they've done in the past, the roster would probably be made up of nothing but AJ, Joe, Bryan, and Miz. So many dudes on the roster have done some shady shit in the past, even Cena.

    Actually that sounds pretty good.

I saw a thread with that stuff in the title on reddit yesterday and just ignored it thinking it was some random shitpost.

G1 Finals card (2am eastern start time):

    Spoiler: show
    Elgin/Makabe/Honma vs. Nagata/Umino/Yoshida (Yoshida's been on some Lion's Gate shows I think)
    Henare vs. Fale
    Yoshi-Hashi/Goto vs. Iizuka/Taichi
    Finlay/Juice vs. Cody/Hangman
    Young Bucks/Marty vs. GoD/Ishimori
    LIJ vs. SZKG (Suzuki/ZSJ/Kanemaru/Desperado)
    Ishii/Yano/White vs. Omega/Chase/Yujiro
Mysterio/Kushida/"Pro Wrestler Sengoku Enbu" vs. Okada/R3K
    Tanahashi vs. Ibushi

The "mystery wrestler" is Taguchi, but I am sure that whomever is there on commentary will try to act like they don't know who it is. I remember the Super Strong Machine match, when Liger was fucking around pretending he didn't know who they were.

No surprise that Ishimori is with them, but I guess I thought they might have established it differently than just "oh yeah, he's in a tag match with them". If Firing Squad cared about things like wins and titles, I'd be hopeful that this would set things up for Bucks to lose one of their titles so at least the silly 6-man titles weren't going to stay dormant.

Pity that Trash Squad were involved in the G1 and that A Block was overall mediocre, because this could have been an untouchable G1 if the other block were half as good as (most of) B Block. Great way to finish the G1 tonight though. Awesome final match.

    G1 Winner:
    Spoiler: show
Tanahashi @ about 35 minutes with 3 High Fly Flows. The first one was on Ibushi's back, so that always means a second, but I was nervous for him when he went for a 3rd. That palm strike segment and Tana just marching Ibushi back to the corner, lmao. I guess now I'll just have to be nervous that he's going to defend against Okada at KOPW. Please have the Jay White match then. I've been wanting a big Tana/Omega match again since the spring.

At least I think we saw how the "Kneesault" was supposed to be, I think?

Challengers for the G1 briefcase have been nominated. It's been 24 hours, I shouldn't use spoilers, right?

    Spoiler: show
    Jay White and Kazuchika Okada.

I wondered before the G1 began if this might be the year that the briefcase holder wins at the Dome or if the briefcase changes hands for the first time. I was fine with the former happening until I read that Tana decided on both of them. I'm now terrified of both happening. Hopefully Okada deciding to no longer have Gedo as his manager will cause this "slump" to continue through the rest of the year.

Jay White to cost Okada the match please?

Hope it was natural. Regarding NJPW moving forward my hope is for Nakamura to return when his contract with WWE is up and take back a Chaos led by Jay White. I've really liked what White has done since his disappointing WK match with Tanahashi. And I think Okada has had his time in the spotlight for now. The story writes itself where White wants true Chaos and Okada has become a shell of his former champion self and is unable to lead so White takes over after some members of Chaos turn to him. White eventually wins the IC Title. After White has a successful defense at a big show, cue the intro to Subconscious playing over the speakers and a returning Nakamura is a surprise challenger.

    Man, Gedo should hire me.

IIRC, Jim Neidhart had a lot of health issue caused by drug abuse, weight gain, wrestling, and age. RIP Anvil.
