noob question. if the battle royals and cruiserweights are on the "pre show" that means they are before the 7pm est start time? like i gotta get to superdome early? if so, how early?
Pre show starts at 5pm EST. If you want to watch the full show be ready for 8 hours in the Super Dome. You'll want to get there early because ticket scanning shenanigans can and will happen. Last year in Orlando I got to the stadium at like 4, in the stadium by 4:30 (we got lucky), in my seat right as the opening match on the preshow started. And then the show wasn't over until like 12:30am. It was a loooooooong day. Bring a portable phone charger and money for food. Get up and stretch halfway through and walk around a bit, even if it means you miss a match. Get your merch the day before, don't waste time in line at the merch stand while you are there. Have fun.
very excited to just do other things during the chick matches
Anoat could also attest to this, after the Cena-Nikki/Miz-Maryse match last year there was a very noticeable adrenaline dump throughout the stadium. The next two(?) matches suffered greatly because of it and then we got the shitty live performance. It gave time for everyone to get up, walk around, stretch, buy whatever and replenished the crowd.
Match placement with the usual WM crap band intermission is a very real and important thing.
I’m just hoping the Superdome is a lot better than crappy ass camping stadium.
I think the back-to-back of the Hardy Boyz return followed by the Mixed tag match was emotionally draining, followed by a 30 minute boring HHH/Rollins match, Pitbull, and spooky Bray/Orton and by the time the SDL women's match started people were just ready for the show to be over. They woke back up for Brock/Goldberg and then everyone died again when 'Taker lost. It was well after midnight at that point. Just a very loooooong draining day. At least the weather was nice.
Twitch is inviting people to co-stream the Impact vs Lucha Underground show and do their own commentary, as long as they turn off VOD recording for it. This has potential of be great.
There may be higher res pics somewhere, but here's the North American Championship title: https://twitter.com/TripleH/status/981245222649675776
I like the idea of a unique model that doesn't just scream "BRANDING!" but that's a step down from the UK title's look. I do like the different color of the actual belt part. That's probably my favorite part.
Glad NXT is making this move as only having one level of singles championship just doesn't cut it with a roster this deep anymore.
Surprised they went with the NA Championship though instead of bringing back something with some history behind it, like the Television Championship from WCW or ECW.
Good point, though I find it weird they can't possibly manage to have pre-show too. Maybe they don't want to show all the empty seats or something? Nonetheless, if the concern is about match quality, they're likely better off on the pre-show, and that's a shame that it's the way it is. At this point, I think I've only seen Cruiserweights on Raw or on PPV, but I know that the post-Enzo era has been well received, particularly with this tournament.
Thing is, what do you bump for them? I've got to hand it to WWE. Even though there are a few matches out there I can't bring myself to care about, they have actually made a main card full of things where I say "none of this can be on the pre-show". The closest thing to being pre-show is a match that won't be pre-show because it has Randy Boreton in it.
One idea I've seen tossed around but usually dismissed is the idea of breaking WrestleMania up over two days, especially now that the show is routinely going 7+ hours long. Thursday Hall of Fame, Friday NXT, Saturday Raw, Sunday SDL. It'll probably never happen but it would help ease the bloat of WM.
WrestleMania will become a 24-hour Wrestlefest before that happens.
I think you mean 24 hour Sports Entertainment fest
