Fans straight up revolted during the main event. I counted at least 12 beach balls at the same time. No one gave a shit about the match itself.

Biggest sins have to go to Rusev eating the pin (to fucking JINDER?) and that abomination of a main event.

MOTN goes to Rousey and the 3 part timers, which is a pretty harsh indicator of the night overall.

At least we'll always have Takeover, good god.

Yeah imo the Rousey train wreck was the best match of the night. I loved seeing DB back but the match itself wasn't anything special. AJ/Nak was a bit disappointing but I'm interested to see where heel Nak goes. The IC title, SDL women, and Rousey match are the only thing I'd go out of my way to watch. Hopefully four years in a row of fans shitting on Roman in the main event of WrestleMania might clue him in.

Not mad about Asuka losing but I question the fast tapout. I would have bet money on the plan being for Rousey to be the one to end the streak either at SummerSlam or Survivor Series. Charlotte still makes sense because they've made a clear long term investment in her but I wonder where Asuka goes from here. Stays on Raw and fights Nia?

Would never have expected Shinsuke to lose but a heel turn shows that they're still invested in the character and want to try something new with it.

The rest I could have predicted in some form or another except for the main event. I would not have expected anything that bad.

-Woman's Battle Royal: Naomi? Seriously? Fuck Total Divas.
-IC title: Sweet match. Wanted Balor to win but Seth is fine too. All of the Shield are now Grand Slam champs.
-Smackdown Women's title: At first I was mad about breaking the streak, but it makes sense in the long run. There's only so long you can go with a streak. Tapping out was dumb though.
-Crusierweights: I fast forwarded lol
-US title: Worst Rusev Day ever
-Ronda mixed match: Ronda looked awesome. Match of the night?
-Smackdown Tag: Decent match, expected outcome
-Cena/Taker: Cena on the other end of the 4 moves of doom. About as good as it was gonna get I guess. I'd be okay with Taker retiring now.
-Db/Shane vs KO/Sami: Match was decent. Shane is nuts. Gets 20 stars for Daniel Bryan being back in the ring and looking as awesome as ever.
-WWE championship: The hype was too much for this match. Heel Nakamura is gonna be sweet though.
-Raw Tag: That was silly and yet awesome. I'm assuming that was a Make-a Wish kid. Braun should declare the WWE universe his tag partners and defend it with a new kid every week under freebird rule. Also Cole shouting NICOLAS IS LEGAL. Fucking perv.
-Raw Women's: Bleh match. Never expected Nia would get her first title as the face.
-Universal championship: Thank the lord we didn't have another coronation. Needing 6 F5s is pretty dumb though. I'm guessing Vince wants Lesnar to break Punk's longest modern day champion length or something. Can we nix the Roman experiment yet?


Oh and all 5 former Wyatt Family members had good moments tonight. Or well, at least all the ones with long beards. Not so much for Randy Orton.

I've gotten to the point where I really only watch wrestling once a year and it's for mania...and after this I'm thinking it's not worth it. At the end of everything, I just felt bored and that's not the emotion you should feel after watching the "Grandest event of all" or whatever they call it. The only really good matches were the triple threat opener and Charlotte/Asuka, everything else was fairly underwhelming at best or made current talent look terrible at worst. Both McMahon related matches dragged on far too long, and the one with shane just got annoying with how hard they were wanking it for him. AJ/Shinske was surprisingly low key, but I guess you can't have the first match of a story line be the best one. The whole Cena/Elias/Taker thing was fairly pointless...but kinda understandable, better then a random celebrity cameo that runs way too long at least. Both tag matches were fairly lame, though the Strowman one was at least funny, but to have the Usos' first actual main card mania match essentially be a squash match was just insulting.

And then there's the main event, where it's clear they're trying to copy the hype of Lesnar/Goldberg but Reigns is no where near their level. In the end the match played out like two 8 year olds playing a fighting game where they only knew one move each and spammed the crap out of it.

I had a fucking blast being there but that had to be SUCH a shitty event to watch from home. Good lord. The chants and beach balls during the main event were maybe the highlight of the night. Can’t believe I participated in a wave during main event if Wrestlemania lol.

Rusev eating the pin might have ruined the crowd entirely if not for DB’s return.

Anyway I’m pretty excited about going to every WM for the rest of my life.

Main gripe with the Rhonda match is I really hope they improve her ring attire. Better color coordination, maybe a different material, and perhaps a tad more coverage. Though I imagine some guys will fight that last point. Just seemed like there was too much wedgie picking and top checks caught on camera. Didn't help when she had the kilt on that she looked like a hostess at that Hooters competitor bar.

PROS:
- Opening triple threat match was easily the best match of the night. Followed by Charlotte vs Asuka.
- Ronda’s debut match was surprisingly good. She showed competence in the ring. Angle was also surprisingly mobile and efficient compared to his previous hookup with the Shield.
- Stage setup was beautiful.
- NOLA is such an awesome host city for mania. It’s almost fucking embarrassing to compare it to Orlando.
- My buddy swiped an extra floor seat collectible chair for me lol.

CONS:
- Main Event was fucking terrible. The only saving grace was Beach Ball Mania and the “BRING BACK NICHOLAS” chants lol. I don’t know how it sounded on tv, but the crowd was absolutely toxic throughout the entire match.
- Rusev eating the pin almost killed the entire event.
- AJ vs Nakamura was such a god damn let down. It’s like neither of them gave a shit and was just going through the motion.
- Braun Strowman’s partner Nicholas, while hilarious, was completely fucking stupid. Hope the Bar gets sent to SDL because they don’t deserve this stupid mess of a buried tag division on Raw.
- WTF at the SDL tag team squash match!? This shit could’ve been a classic and they got like 10 minutes.
- I think I prefer open stadiums versus domes for mania. Last year felt much more grandiose in scope.

Overall I had a fucking blast. NOLA is fucking lit. WrestleCon was amazing! Got to meet and bullshit with so many wrestlers. Had some good ass gumbo, ate some alligator, drank a Huge Ass Beer(tm). Regardless of the mediocre event, I had so much fun all around. My signed winged belt and collectible chair are gonna look amazing in my man cave when I get home.

Next year is at MetLife Stadium! It’s practically free fucking tickets for me. Can’t wait!

From the viewer end, I couldn't hear the Nicholas chants during the title match, but it was obvious from the hard cam that a lot of the crowd's attention was elsewhere paired with the occasional awkward cheer.

Would also imagine Raw didn't sell out because people didn't really care for a likely Roman wankfest. Will probably just be a big whine now, but hopefully Brock peaces out and we can get some decent movement on an actual decent championship scene. Sadly, with Braun at tag and Seth at IC, there's not a whole lot of free bodies for replacement that would "deserve" it. Finn's got the ring talent, but I'd still like to see some improvement to his charisma and/or gimmick.
