Apart from the two I got from the first two weeks of them being 100%, I got a third last week from a 7 day spin. They should let you swap your other evo items to get more e.g. x3 up-grades for x1 sinnoh stone as I’m always getting those lol

Just in case some people are unaware... you can PvP against the team leaders (super easy) and get a reward once daily (one reward daily, not one per leader) with roughly a 1-in-8 chance at a Sinnoh stone. That's been available since PvP was released like a month and a half ago now, so that's like... 40+ chances since it came out. You'd have to have some REAL shitty luck to get any that way if you're doing it daily. At this point, I've used 4 stones, and I've got 4 more in my inventory. 3 of those were from 7-day research rewards (that includes the first 2 guaranteed ones), the other 5 were from solo-PvP.

So any time I see someone say "apart from the first two weeks", I assume they just completely don't know about the daily PvP thing you can do by yourself. Assuming a stone rate of 1-in-8 (it's actually better than that) and a conservative 30 daily attempts (I think it's actually been closer to 50 days since PvP came out) there's only a 1.8% chance that you wouldn't have gotten a stone from the solo-PvP.

Click on the "nearby" list. Scroll to the left tab (where it says "Battle") and click on one of the leaders. Yes, Niantic completely dropped the ball on informing people about that option. I guess they just assumed everyone would notice.

I did the pvp against the npc trainers like the first 12 or so days it came out and never got a sinnoh stone so I just assumed it wasnt a reward for npc fight so gave up on them.

It definitely is possible to get that way, but it did take me damn near 30 days to see my first one. Now I got 3 in the past 7 days. Maybe they tweaked the drop rates? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Does the league matter for the stones? I don't have Master league unlocked apparently guess I need to spam candy on something to get a higher CP.

We've gotten stones from it. Well, mostly she's the one getting stones from it.

In pvp it gives you the option for a second attack. For example, my Tyranitar came with Stone Edge as it's big charge attack. For candy and dust you can give it a second attack, so now I can choose between Stone Edge and Crunch.

The sinnoh stone part of the event started at midnight. I went 5/5 on trainer practice battles for a stone.

also got 3 shiny swinubs in 10 minutes.

I got 9 sinnohs. 5 from trainer, 4 from pvp. Fought my fiancee 6 times but didnt get anything past the 4th fight.

I only got 2 Swinub shiny but I didnt try very hard.
