Pandemic, play-at-home bonuses are going away. Changes are happening in July. The good, gym spins will give two raid passes a day. The bad, incense will be less effective, buddy won't give bonus gifts, and the distance to trigger a pokestop or gym will be decreased.
People are NOT happy about gym/pokestop spin distance, the rest people don’t seem to mind too much
Noooooo not the distance, that’s been the best thing about the changes they made last year. I have to fight to get my avatar to get close to the gym next door as it’s just outside the original radius from where I live.
Sometimes I feel like GameDevs need to understand once a QOL is out of the bag, you can't just stuff in back in like nothing happened. Its like Sprint in Halo, its there now, you cant Un-there it.
At least 150 Bidoof caught and not a single shiny or perfect and only 4 are even 3 stars.
Looks like the Pokémon gym distance change has gone live. Fucking sucks.
Only changed in the US and New Zealand for now I believe. Hopefully people remember to be pissed now that it changed back and it eventually gets reverted.
Oh man, make sure you grab your blue and red Basculin from the Space event. Can’t believe they’re letting the greatest variant/regional Pokémon and best water type in existence ever just spawn regularly in the wild.
Yeah with the new stop/gym interaction distance I stopped playing, if/when I pick it up again I'm sure one of my friends will have extras of whatever.
“Thank you everyone who made your voices heard.”
I thought I was reading the Onlyfans backtrack again.
They increased gym/pokestop radius again. Not sure what the COVID-distance was, but it’s up to 80 meters now.
anyone still playing this? I started up again a little bit ago after not touching the game for a year+ pretty much.
They added Vivillion a few days ago- along with all its alternate forms- but it requires using the Pin Postcard Gift gimmick to get them. Each part of the world was assigned a Vivillion pattern and you have to pin 3 post cards from that region to spawn a scatterbug that will evolve into that pattern.
So, I need some friends to trade gifts to that aren’t in the US.

Any new friends are fine, though. Going to sleep now. If there’s anyone alive here that sends invite, I’ll accept it after I wake up.
Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre are in the game now. The game considers them “Mega” and thus they are allowed in Mega Battle League PVP. They are almost 4-5k more CP than anything else and are murdering everyone. Don’t think Niantic thought this one through all the way lol
Niatic yet again making their own game far harder to enjoy.

Remote raid passes are now 195 for single and 525 for triple. They are limiting you to 5 remote raids per day.
Yet they continue to do nothing to actually aid players in being able to do non-remote raids. These raids were the main reason I still even really played. It’s ridiculous enough to play f2p when you can only earn a max of 50 coins. Pretty sure I’m done with this game.
The Silph Road announced today they are ceasing operations. Between this loss for the community and Niantic’s policies the last few months, I believe this is the unofficial death knell of the game and it’s community.
That's just the website though, not the subreddit. I really don't think the site going away is going to have much of an impact on the game at all. I'm an extremely "hardcore" player and I've only ever looked at it a handful of times. If it was being used a lot it probably wouldn't have been in the money crunch it was in in the first place.
Now if Poke Genie went down…
Regardless, I’m done with the game. Raid change killed my will to play the game any longer. I only log on now every few days to transfer Pokémon to Home. So technically, I’ll still probably be “using” the app for a long time.
Bloomberg is reporting that Niantic is looking to sell itself and all of their IP's to Saudi-owned dev Scopely for $3.5B
