It seems pretty clear that this group works for the Emperor / Snoke and want Baby Yoda to help keep Emperor alive / create Snoke. Very interesting storyline so far.
The creation of the First Order was covered in Battlefront II which is canon. Spoilers below if you never played/want to know:

Favreau says the idea to keep Baby Yoda a secret and not do any merch ahead of time was given to him indirectly by Donald Glover while they were working on The Lion King. Glover commented about how few surprises there are anymore in media and that people love them, he cited how Beyoncé will randomly drop albums with no hype or pre-release. So, you all have Donald Glover to thank for not having Yoda plushies this holiday season!

What a finale.
Who would've thought that the satisfying Star Wars ending we'd be getting in Dec 2019 wasn't from the movie but from the D+ show.
Also I guess we never saw whos boots we saw in ep 5?

The entire opening scene with the storm troops, that like 2min sequence, was better than the majority of the new movie lol. What a conclusion, I daresay perfectly done. It's so refreshing to have competent show runners helming this compared to the shit show of the new trilogy directed by JJ/Rian.
