I love watching new super smash bros news, always so much hype and surprises that I just can't believe are all in one game lol.

I assume the option on the main menu they were hiding was a new story mode maybe? I know most people probably care about just playing competitively or with friends, but I do really want a great story mode in this game as well. And going off what they've shown so far, they do seem to want this game to have everything, so I still have hope!

What we're missing from what he has said:
DK's echo fighter rep: presumably Dixie.
Animal Crossing's Isabelle will be a new fighter.
New pokemon rep is not Decidueye or Lycanroc.
1 new surprise fighter in the line of Game + Watch and Duck Hunt.

Also, the codenames leak (quoted for reference) is looking hit and miss. It is close on a few items, but others have been de-confirmed and the timeline that came with that leak is also delayed after referencing Evo 2018 and a mini direct in July:

In July, the characters “King” and “Ponytail” will be revealed in a mini Nintendo Direct.
In August, the character “Old Man” will be revealed at EVO 2018.
In September, the character “Archer” will be revealed in a Nintendo Direct of some kind.
In October, the Characters “Warrior” and “Secretary” will be revealed in a Nintendo Direct centered around Ultimate.
In November, the character “Mech” will be revealed in a surprise character announcement.
The Characters “Rhythm”, “Folklore”, “Doll”, and “Prime Ribs” won’t get reveal trailers until post-release.

Later, 'Fake' and 'Soul' were added as additional codenames. Shadow the Hedhehog (Fake) and Isaac (Soul) are the most popular deductions.

King (K. Rool), Warrior (Belmont), and Prime Ribs (Retro - Dark Samus) look to be comfirmed. Secretary (Isabelle) should be confirmed as well because everything else has been spot on.

Archer (presumed Decidueye) has already been nixed though, and Old Man (Heihachi) - supposed to be announced at Evo - has passed. Ashley (Ponytail) has also been relegated to assist trophy once again, but could still be Dixie Kong.

Not sure if anyone else caught it, but Sakurai said all characters would be announced before release.

I'm thinking that unlike Smash 4 DLC, everything will be put on the table now even if the DLC (if there is any) could be months away.

Any word on when that limited edition goes on sale? Amazon doesnt have it up yet.

He was. Took a dip for the Smash Ballot voting, but still was very high on the JP side.

Chrom and Dark Samus also being high on the fan request list post Smash 4 gives me hope that Sakurai will deliver us the Star Road Guardian.
