It would be pretty brash of Sakurai to have Isaac as an assist trophy in Brawl, downgrade to only have Golden Sun represented by 2 music selections in Wii U, and then downgraded again to just a random item in Ultimate.

Some weird things going on about the now dubbed "How the Grinch Stole Smashmas" leak. Spoilers in some of the links if you're still trying to avoid that stuff.

1. A poorly cropped version of the banner image was apparently on Nintendo's website in early September. The image had a portion of Olimar down by Snake clipped off entirely, like someone used a cropping tool and just cut part of the image out. Internet claims that this is due to the banner itself being a total of 6 images and Olimar just happened to be cut off after Isabelle's inclusion, however...

2. This image grab also seems to show a spot that includes another leaked character besides a cropped version of Pac Man and Zero Suit Samus. Even if the banner image is 6 distinct sections strung together, we at least now have confirmation that movement between the sections is taking place and Nintendo has now screwed up twice when it came to updating the image.

3. The graphic production company (ACP-PLV) featured in the original snapchat video had a promotional video up on YouTube for their business. The video had what looked to be like the work area that the pictures in the leak were taken at. The video has since been removed.

4. Partners of Nintendo on review sites and YouTube are either saying the leak is false or not talking about it at all. A cryptic post on Reddit over the weekend implied they were from GameXplain and were voluntold by Nintendo to not discuss the leak at all, that other outlets were facing the same pressure, and hinted that the penalty in ignoring this request would result in them being potentially cut off from info and review access in the future.

There is also the lingering talk that Nintendo may be at Microsoft's X018 event in early November. The last XO event announced the acquisition of Rare.

I personally have a hard time believing that because Sakurai trolls like no other and all the screenshot homages, etc, just tell me this can't be done for a mere assist trophy.
