Where did you see this? They only mentioned this when talking about Spirit Mode or w/e and they showed lots of footage of the Local/Online VS mode without smash meters.

I guess im moving through the stages of grief for Geno. But you know what really gets me in the dillerydoos?

Isaac/Golden Sun fans.

Dude was an assist trophy in Brawl, only to be removed completely in Wii U with just 2 Golden Sun song tracks on unrelated stages remaining.

And then there was the Rathalos staging, and numerous hints that GS may be coming back.

What do they get?

Another assist trophy.

I'm much more of a "if they get in, thats cool" with GS, while with Geno it is a "they really need to add him". I can get Geno's difficulty in navigating a 3rd party negotiation, but to intentionally set up Golden Sun fans like that is just harsh. I feel for them.

That all said, im still hyped for the game bigtime. Toon Link is back, I may have a new pocket in Ridley, and the game comes out in a little over 5 weeks.

I'd imagine we see the DLC every 2 months over the next year. So theres that to look forward to as well. Gotta think if Geno isn't among those 5 his chances are done.

Honestly Geno may be better fitted for DLC just based on those 3rd Party problems, let it contract such that SE gets royalties only from that DLC sale.

I hope so. Because 1st DLC timing around the late feb 2019 mark would give a big window to Sora even though that then involves Disney.

I'm operating now that Vergeben is gospel, and there is a SE rep for DLC. Trying to keep the faith here, however slim.

Does Sora belong to SE or Disney? I feel like he’s even worse off in that grey area than Geno.

Pretty sure it's a sort of copyright hell situation in a way when it comes to other IPs using KH characters, but It's Disney unless things changed with recent games (I stopped around 2 so many years since then.) Disney owns their respective IPs, SE owns their respective. Characters "born" from KH are largely owned by Disney since in the long run it's just a Disney game series developed by SE like when Capcom was largely heading up Disney games back in the day.

Geno I think is a matter of SE going "sure go ahead w/e but xyz clauses!" but given SE's focus on FF, we'd sooner see another FF character before dipping into Mario RPG territory.
