Its literally a character 90% of people who play smash never heard of.

Never mind it's a made up number, but what are "people who play smash" even? That's the beauty of Smash. Shit's made for everyone with enough depth to get really deep into it. I've seen people that have never played a game absolutely love it and join in, people who haven't played games for multiple console generations, etc. It's highly accessible, fun, and you've got a wide berth of characters to enjoy.

Never mind all the characters in the game that haven't had a game in forever or were never very widespread. Rob? Game and Watch? The entirety of Fire Emblem? Captain Falcon? Little Mac? Ness? Sheik? You don't need to be a colossal character with decades of background or current generation games to be included.

Like everyone else, Doomguy is the hardest to swallow for me; there's precedent for bombs in Smash and even guns with Bayonetta, but I just can't imagine Ness taking a shotgun blast to the face. What would he even do?

My 2 cents are they'll drop any realistic weapons and use only his sci fi stuff like the plasma cannon. Kind of how Snake doesn't use a handgun/assault rifle and just explosions.

I'm super hyped for Erdrick, specially because a friend of mine who hasn't touched a Smash ever is an ultra DQ fan and says he will pick up the game if Erdrick is in. And with Smash, you can count that he's going to be represented 100% true to the character with lots of cool and faithful references.

So, yeah, if this is another Geno case it's going to be my turn to be really, really let down because of a false hope.

Pulls out a shotgun and blows his brains out, the raining grey matter and blood deals lethal damage, blood and grey matter that hits the stage would act as hazards. Nice throw back to Doom's map Nirvana giving you a shotgun at the start.
