45 min "Terry Demonstration" lead by Sakurai himself on Wednesday, 5am PST / 8 am EST.
I put quotes around Terry Demonstration because....there's gotta be more. 45 min just for terry? nah. They're planning something.

Nintendo Versus twitter and the video description both state very clearly that no information concerning unannounced fighters will be shown.
It is the longest Smash centric direct ever, 5 minutes longer than E3. For one character. Decent idea is that this "livestream" event is indeed 45 mins long and for Terry, the "Slipspace" datamined mode, and Sakurai rambling. But then at the end, an actual Smash direct is announced (10-15 mins long) for this Thursday where we will then get new info on #5 and whatever else they throw at us.
Regardless, something is up. A lot of the regular leakers have gone silent, VRPlant and Sabi are both tight lipped, and the fear of the Nintendo Ninjas is real right now.
Also, the Mallow hat is now confirmed to have jiggle physics. So if this is fake, not only has someone figured out what the entirety of the Smash modding community has failed to do in modding Mii fighters - they also figured out how to add jiggle physics to the mod without crashing the game.
Edit: The verified Doom Instagram posted an image yesterday that has been taken down. It included Doomguy armor, some figures, a laptop playing doom, Doom on PS4,...and a Nintendo Switch with Smash Joycons playing Doom.
Edit 2: Found it!

I need this Turbo mode mod asap.
Bah I'm going to have to wake up early for this.
I'm kind of wondering now if the livestream isn't the usual 15-20 minutes for Terry (like Banjo and Hero got), 5 minutes for content accompanying Terry (Mii fighter Costumes, music, etc), and then closes with 5-10 minutes detailing Slipspace or whatever the true "final" mode of the game is.
The "livestream" then ends with an announcement of a Smash Direct right after that encompasses the last 10 minutes that goes into Fighter #5 and whatever is after that. This would keep the promise that the "livestream" does not go into new characters detail.
Stream started.
The madman did it.
He honestly spoke about Terry Bogard and SNK for 45 minutes. Was close to worth it for the Mai comments though.
I’m fucking excited!! Can’t wait to mess with him tonight!!!
It is kind of crazy to see two different corporate approaches to including content though.
Square Enix: Eh, I guess. Here are a few songs and Hero. Fine fine, We will let Cloud stay in the base game. Now go away.
SNK: 50 songs and our mascot? Done! We'll also throw in 20 stage cameos. Sure you don't want 100 songs? What else can we help you with?
Terry live now.
Edit: https://en-americas-support.nintendo...te%20ver.6.0.0 patch notes live.

https://www.nintendo.com/games/detai...l-fury-switch/Get ready, the king of fighters has arrived! For the first time ever, The Legendary Wolf, Terry Bogard from the Fatal Fury series, enters the battle as a playable fighter in the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate game for the Nintendo Switch system. In a new video, Masahiro Sakurai, the director of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, showcased Terry Bogard in action and unveiled the King of Fighters Stadium stage and 50 music tracks from an assortment of SNK titles, all coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate today. All of this new content will be available to players who own the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass or purchase Challenger Pack 4 separately.
“By featuring an iconic fighting game character like Terry Bogard, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate expands its legacy as the quintessential love letter to the past and future of gaming,” said Nick Chavez, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “As Super Smash Bros. Ultimate continues to grow its roster of fighters, stages and music through downloadable content, we hope players will enjoy meeting both new friends and familiar faces that bring the game to life in unexpected ways.”
Terry Bogard’s addition to the roster will inject even more variety into the epic collection of heated battles in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Terry has appeared in more than 80 games spanning the past three decades, first taking the world by storm in 1991 when he pummeled his opponents in the legendary SNK arcade game, Fatal Fury: King of Fighters. With his trademark ball cap and confident smile, Terry has since grown into a mainstay in the fighting game community and a mascot for SNK. Players interested in exploring more of Terry Bogard’s history can also play several classic fighting games that feature him in Nintendo eShop on Nintendo Switch, including ACA NEOGEO Fatal Fury, ACA NEOGEO Fatal Fury Special, ACA NEOGEO The King of Fighters ’95, ACA NEOGEO Real Bout Fatal Fury Special, ACA NEOGEO The King of Fighters ’98, and ACA NEOGEO Garou: Mark of the Wolves.
In a fitting tribute to his NEO GEO roots, Terry Bogard’s move set bridges the classical arcade fighting gameplay of the Fatal Fury series with the signature play style of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. This unique lineage means Terry plays unlike any other fighter on the roster, giving players new opportunities for creative expression through his unmistakable fighting flair. Terry’s introduction to the roster also means the addition of the new King of Fighters Stadium stage and 50 music tracks from an assortment of SNK titles. Finally, a free update for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate that includes improvements to the Battle Arena, as well as other features, will also be available today.
By purchasing the Fighters Pass, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate players will get access to five Challenger Packs. Each pack includes a new playable fighter, a new stage and music tracks. Joker, Hero and Banjo & Kazooie are all available now, with Terry Bogard joining today. One additional fighter, who has yet to be revealed, is also included in the Fighters Pass, and will be available for download at a later date.

Who the fuck thought it was a good idea to let homeboy spam meter at critical %? Probably same dude responsible for balancing Hero.
So far of all the DLC characters the ones that are the most unique/balanced are Piranha Plant and Joker.
I think it's fucking awesome, especially since they put an execution barrier on it to keep the scrubs at bay.
If he's over 100% he can kill from 0 with just 3 or 4 clean hits, up tilt into Power Geysah is so fucking dirty.
I’m half tempted to pick up Smash just to play Terry. I’m pretty confident with 10 minutes in the lab I can probably body most of the smash faithful lol.
He's got some weirdness that is definitely related to how he'll auto face the opponent that can make his recovery akward as fuck if he's facing the wrong way when he goes off the stage. But imo it's more then made up by never having to worry about his jab going in the wrong direction (which you can then cancel into his DP).
He actually plays like a real fighting game character (more so then Ken and Ryu do), especially with how well he can whiff punish via his Burn Knuckle.
And again, spamming the shit out of Power Geysah and Bustah Wolf is fucking hilarious
I haven't been a stick player for a long time now (since Umvc 3 was released on Vita), but the inputs for Terry aren't complicated, the game gives a lot of leeway in the inputs. I hate using a controller joystick for fighting game inputs, but it's w/e.
Terry at least imo basically requires the c stick/right stick to be set as your tilt attacks instead of smash, it gives him a lot more options with the input versions of his specials (like up tilt into Rising Tackle or to avoid getting the DP when you go for down/side tilt into his Burn Knuckle)
