I dont think anyone would be mad at Iwata or an Iwata themed character strictly since him and Sakurai were close and its been mentioned this was Iwata's last greenlit project before his passing.

Big theme this pass seems to have been catchup for base game and everyone in FP2 was negotiated in some form or fashion from 2018/2019. A bug for Little Mac way back from version 3.1 I think confirmed Kazuya was in the works as far back as then. Sakurai sure spent some time talking about trying to get Tekken in the game forever.

I still think there's room for Plant type additions (like Waluigi) after the DLC is done and full paid DLC when (lets be honest) this gets a Switch Pro edition, but FP2 is likely the end of paid DLC for now. The bloodbath today confirmed some rumors that have been hanging around, most specifically Mii Costume Guy leak from forever ago. Those were:

Fallout
Dragonborn
Doom

Capcom is still kind of that big missing blank space for additional content though. Maybe they were fine with base game, who knows? Overall, its great that literally anything is on the table for 11 (sans the 3 that just got Mii'ed).

Surprised this thread hasn't been active. Last fighter being announced at 10 AM EST tomorrow. Seen a lot of buzz about it being Sora due to someone from Disney music claiming they got a request for Kingdom Hearts music. Sounds like a stretch like any leak, but they posted about it in like June and said 10/5 was the announcement date. I don't keep up much with the game, but it absolutely is a celebration of gaming at this point. We'll see in 12 hours!

Sora flies in the face of a lot of things, mainly knowing for fact that Nintendo/Disney talks kind of stalled out hard around 2 years ago. Stuff could obviously change, but a call to get music clearance probably would have happened much earlier, and not so late in the process.

It's also historically not something that bangs down the doors of "OMFG AWESOME" for the final Smash fighter. So don't count too much on the others like Master Chief here either.
