Honestly I think what bothers me the most is this is basically it for any major updates but online gameplay still has a lot to be desired.

Probably not much? I dont think Disney is that stingey w/ guest appearances.

You have Pirates of the Carribean in Sea of Thieves. Fortnite has a star wars/marvel characters. Jungle book in fall boys.

Oh fuck they are

In FF record keeper on mobile they made Sora, Riku, Roxas and Axel appear once or twice max, and they are not allowed to be back. Exemple in banners where every items is in it, KH items will not be there because they don't pay Disney to keep using them

So if you have the characters you're lucky otherwise your SOL

Plus here you have SE's relationship with Nintendo/Sakurai to help bridge that gap too. SE officially ended up with the most characters in Smash right?
