I saw something a week or 2 ago that the movie was going to introduce Norman Osborn, which it obv didnt. Maybe Flash is going to be Harry? Idk

Part of the reason Flash was always such a shithead to Peter in high school was because of his terrible home life. Not sure about the relationship with his mother in the comics but he was regularly abused by his father which led to him taking it out on Peter for years until Peter eventually fought back and knocked him out.

Guessing this is just them showing he has a neglected home life and that's why he acts the way he does.

The beginning was hysterical. Their little High School news segment. I didn't think the movies could find a way to make The Snap funny but they did. Or maybe we should call it "The Blip" now? lol

Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio. I thought he was going to be kinda a weak villain but he was badass. Yes yes, he technically doesn't have any superpowers but he was so ruthless! One of the best villains in any Marvel movie so far imo. I thought it was great how they stayed true to his character and just upgraded his tech from the old comics.

E.D.I.T.H. "Even in Death I'm The Hero" So Tony. I want a pair!

That mid-credits scene. HOLY SHIT! HOLY FUCK! That totally caught me off guard.

Saw it last night. Loved it and can't say enough that I love this version of MJ. Awkward as can be, down to earth and has that "weird but smart kid in class" vibe.

Ned and Betty's overly cheesy fling was hilarious. Happy is always great and I like what they did with Mysterio. Sucks he's gone but he did give one last middle finger with that crazy mid credits scene. Also, that dude on his team copying data from EDITH(?) on to that flash drive. SHIELD moving to space and having Talos/Skrulls on their payroll was interesting but I was sad to see no new villain setup as the next big threat to the MCU. I'm sure we'll learn more from D23 next month.

nothing to say Mysterio is dead. Peter asked if he was an illusion, not was he dead.
The dude downloading data at the end, pretty sure that was at the very least the video of framing Spiderman with the potential to be whatever future scriptwriters want it to be.

Saw it today, didn't read the last couple of pages, so whatever. Was a fun movie, nothing really great about it, nothing seriously bad. So yeah, glad we did this without knowing what to expect

Just got out of seeing it. Really enjoyed it. Glad I have been watching the first trailer and just going blackout on movies I want to see as I personally seem to enjoy it more not knowing whats coming.

Not sure how I feel about mid-credits scene. I loved JK Simmons as J. Jonah and was fine with Spider-Man is a menace, just the revealing his identity to the world? I don't know...

Some thoughts on implications for MCU going forward:

So the general public knows that Tony, Natasha, Vision are really dead. They assume Cap is dead probably because he disappeared. Or maybe Cap IS dead. He did come back as a very old man. I guess the answer will be how much money they want to throw at Chris Evans.

Not much word on what the Avengers themselves are up to, and the public doesn’t seem to know much either based on the reporter’s questions for Spider-Man. They probably haven’t even had time to rebuild Avengers HQ. Which leads to my next speculation.

The reason why Telos was impersonating Fury is because Fury was overseeing construction of a new hidden Avengers HQ in space. Maybe? I dunno.

I'm not sure what they plan to do with Spiderman's identity being revealed, but in theory they could try to play it off as a lie by having a skrull impersonate Peter while Spiderman is out doing things so people would see him in two places.

It does bring up a good point when they had him say "execute them all" in post credits they didn't just show it was Peter despite him having his mask off there. Plausible deniability could be a thing, possibly through skrulls. Was watching the TFS review and they brought up an interesting theory. Next villain could be Kraven hunting Spider-Man. Doesn't even have to be a bad guy, just hunting this "Mass murdering Spiderman."
