Welp Tom Holland you had a good run. Hopefully this isn't the peak of your career.

He will always have Broadway to fall back on.
I don't think Sony had any intention on negotiating and wanted Spidey back. I think we all await for this to backfire.
For Marvel, doesn't look like they were going to do much with Spiderman in phase 4 based on SDCC presentation.
Fucking hell. After that crazy ass mid credits scene after FFH we're just gonna be left hanging? Fucking Sony.

I've kind of always felt things were downhill from here, and the current slate of MCU movies are basically all Endgame fallout movies.
Fair enough.
Sony can continue using the characters they own the rights to. SpiderHolland 3 can continue right where FFH left off, they just likely have to completely leave out any further mention of tony stark/avengers/any other MCU. For example, if they use the Inventor dude who made Vulture's weapons again, he wouldn't be using chitari technology, he'd likely just be using alien technology. Mysterio won't be "disgruntled Stark employee," he'll be "vengeful ex-inventor."
Good luck ret-conning all that Mysterio stuff if they continue right where the after credits scene ended.

Much of today’s news about Spider-Man has mischaracterized recent discussions about Kevin Feige’s involvement in the franchise. We are disappointed, but respect Disney’s decision not to have him continue as a lead producer of our next live action Spider-Man film. (1/3)
We hope this might change in the future, but understand that the many new responsibilities that Disney has given him – including all their newly added Marvel properties – do not allow time for him to work on IP they do not own. (2/3)
Kevin is terrific and we are grateful for his help and guidance and appreciate the path he has helped put us on, which we will continue. (3/3)
Why would they need to retcon it?
Spiderman is blamed for Mysterio's death. That's all there really is.
"Mysterio died while trying to protect the city from the Spiderman menace!" And now he's a fugitive.
Losing MCU does destroy my thought that Peter would get out of the mess by having a Skrull pretend to be him, though.
The whole basis of Mysterio was him and others at stark industries felt betrayed that parker was left in charge instead of them. They already can't use vulture due to his ties with stark and the use of their tech. Is Marvel even going to let them use "the blip" since that's mcu orcare they going to ignore all of that as well. Untangling the last two Spider-Man movies isn't as simple as renaming terms.
And even if it was, I wouldn't trust Sony on how to not fuck it up after they tried to go all in on sinister six and completely botched it.

We will have to simply agree to disagree then, because while Stark was intrinsic to their origins, they are past their origin phase. They no longer care about Stark, they've got much more personal business with Parker himself now.
And beyond that, If Vulture and Mysterio are used again, they'd likely be a part of the Sinister Six, and thus an ansamble cast and thus, it would be quite easy to avoid any specific details about their past aside from their shared hatred for Spiderman. How many characters in Avengers movies even reference anything in their origin movies? Ain't no time for that.
Preferably, they leave Vulture and Mysterio alone for a long, long time and move on to something new, and hopefully something good.
Ee-bom-bay and "on your left" come straight to mind cause I just rewatched Endgame tonight. There's plenty more, like the entirety of Thor's breakdown on Asgard.
This is going to be a clusterfuck. No Stark tech, no Friday/Edith, no Skrulls, no Nick Fury/Shield, no god damn Happy Hogan. Even MJ/Michelle might be out. Sure, she's a standin for Mary Jane, but she's not that character. My hope is they're just having a public corporate spat and things will get worked out. Who knows what the truth is, but that Sony tweet up above just doesn't bode well for me.
No sir, I don’t like this.
On your left was not in the Captain America origin movie, but "I can do this all day" was
I like to try and be positive.
