You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

I'm torn, because ultimately I think marvel should have everything back. But at the same time I fucking loved Into the Spiderverse, and thought the animation on it was top notch and not just perfect as a hero film, but perfect as a spiderman film specifically.

I do hope they can come to an agreement where holland's spidey can stay in the MCU, but Sony can still do the spiderverse silms.

From Tom Holland during a d23 panel. From articles posted a few hours ago, but articles are kind of unclear if disney/Sony definitely isnt happening or they're still working through it.

“Basically, we’ve made five great movies,” Holland told EW. “It’s been five amazing years. I’ve had the time of my life. Who knows what the future holds? But all I know is that I’m going to continue playing Spider-Man and having the time of my life. It’s going to be so fun, however we choose to do it. The future for Spider-Man will be different, but it will be equally as awesome and amazing, and we’ll find new ways to make it even cooler.”

    Official comment from Feige;

It was a dream that I never thought would happen. It was never meant to last forever. We knew there was a finite amount of time that we’d be able to do this, and we told the story we wanted to tell, and I’ll always be thankful for that.

RIP MCU Spidey. Unless they get the writers of Spiderverse for the next movie, we'll have another basic, forgettable movie like Venom. Tom Holland deserves better.

That competition doesn't need to come from a Sony-exclusive Spider-man, though. I think DC is finally starting to get their shit together and Disney isn't asking for the theatrical animation rights to the character.

I still think that if Disney was able to work things out with James Gunn, they can still figure things out with Sony. It's been less than a week.

Shazam was great and Aquaman, from my understanding (I actually haven't seen it yet), were pretty decent. Joker appears to potentially be quite good and Gunn's Suicide Squad gives reason to be optimistic.

Despite it releasing before Justice League, I think it would also be fair to list Wonder Woman within that positive trend as well.

Aquaman was ok. It wasn't great but wasn't awful. Some of the CGI was pure shit though.

From what I remember they're just throwing out movies with no cinematic universe in mind since JL flopped. Seems like a mess with the potential of good superhero teamup flicks. But if the solo movies make more money then I guess that's the route they'll go.

Wonder Woman was great, but fell flat with the ending. I believe Feige and Disney have come to understand the story-telling part of the Marvel movies, and I have hope they can continue to adapt future movies to be as successful. DC and Sony films haven't found that part, yet, and competition isn't going to magically make them better either.

Tom Holland and his creative team have made a pitch to Sony for his third film.

It’s not the end of me playing Spider-Man. There’s definitely more to come. We sat down with some of our creatives. We pitched Spider-Man 3, which is going to be something very special, it’s going to be something very different. I’m just so grateful that Marvel changed my life and allowed my dreams to come true and Sony allowing me to continue living my dream.

It’s really exciting, the ideas we have for how we can expand the Spider-Man world and bring new characters into it, and crossover with other people, it’s really exciting. And it’s only going to get bigger and better from here, which is great.

DC's inability to create a coherent world is irrelevant when the context of what I was saying was that DC can provide a level of competition for superhero movies on par or better with anything Sony would theoretically be able to do. That's not to say I'm necessarily on board with the idea that competition for superhero movies is even needed at all, given Disney's track record- just that even if it were a positive thing for pushing the MCU forward, it shouldn't be done by fucking up Spider-Man.

I've posted numerous times that I felt that Wonder Woman was somewhat overrated, for the reason that you stated. But again, not entirely relevant to the context of what I'm saying. It was a decent movie that made a lot of money.

This is the definition of a stock, canned reply. Wtf do people expect him to say? "Well, I'll drag my fee through the remainder of my contract, sorry everyone." GTFO of here. You can tell he's really excited by the news because he uses the word 'exciting' twice in the same sentence.

Public speaking is hard. Not everyone is reading off a teleprompter written by a team of writers.
Or is writing on a forum where they can go over what they've written before hitting post.

    He's under contract still.

He isn't going to bad mouth Sony.
