I thought the spider clone saga was stupid as shit and left me utterly confused as a kid lol.
Wasn't the clone saga a major contributor to Marvel filing for bankruptcy in 1996?
I may have rose colored glasses because I was a kid during that time and the multiple spideys was really neat. Don’t remember the writing though. But I always liked kaine since The Other storyline.

The problem was the plan had been, from day one, that Ben Reilly was the real Peter Parker.
And then pretty much right after the reveal happened they were told that couldn't be the real reveal, so they had to go about figuring out ways to put everything back.

Deadpool might be introduced to the MCU via Spider-Man 3.
I forgot what run it was, maybe Sensational Spider-man, where Ben took over as Spider-man for Peter while also grappling with his identity crisis. It was decent but I haven't read it in decades so maybe it['s rose colored glasses.
As I recall it (this was a while ago of course and I was actively reading new releases at the time), the general consensus among fans was that if we had been following a cloned spider-man for decades (so not the newly revealed "Ben"), it was a pile of bullshit to Peter's efforts and character. At least the teenage me thought so. Marvel came across as saying to me that Ben was better than Peter because he was the "real" one. Anyway, overall the backlash among the fan base was harsh. And as I remember it the story went like this:Spoiler: show
Anyway, Marvel comics lost all my money after that shit and now they get it in the form of MCU tickets.
Nothing compares to the fan rage brought on from One More Day story. Its been 10 years and only now is marvel starting to undo that dumpster fire.

Endgame leaker says no Deadpool, but Sony is making a major push to include Venom.
Fuck no.
Venom movie was dumb fun, but it was an absolute fucking mess and needs to stay away from the MCU lol
Doesn't match the tone or proper age for MCU Spider-man.
They could probably make Tom Hardy's Venom work in the MCU tbh, it's not like it isn't salvageable. Can't be worse than Thor 2.
Honestly, 2 easy ways to fix Venom.
1. Let it be R Rated
2. Let Marvel help.
I'm excited for this. Tom's Venom would be fantastic in the right hands.
The best scene from Venom:
Venom: Jump!
Eddie: No!
*screen wipe, Eddie exits elevator on ground floor*
Venom: Pussy!
As just Venom I think Marvel could do great. Just wonder what they want to do with the symbiote. If they did a straight addition seems like it would be harder to fit it into Spiderman and have that relationship.
