I’d say it’s more why risk injury in a blowout when you’re trying to play catch-up in the standings for a playoff push.

Cubs getting blown out by the Diamondbacks. Arizona are no slouches but I expected better.

Heading down to Seattle tomorrow to catch a Mariners vs Giants game (among other things). Pretty excited, haven't seen an MLB game in 4 or 5 years now.

Last night the Rangers used 2 position players after getting curb stomped by the A's. They were the only two pitchers to not give up a run.

The Brewers had two position players pitch 3 scoreless innings in their 11-2 blowout loss to the Dodgers a couple days ago.

A’s down 10-2 going into the seventh so of course they wind up winning 13-10 in 10 innings

I'm sure everyone heard about Daniel Poncedeleon yesterday and his 7 inning no hitter in his major league debut. In case you didn't know a little over a year ago, in a minor league game, he got hit by a line drive in the side of the head and suffered a skull fracture and almost died. Everyone in St. Louis and the media ate the story up, and he was so thankful and humble that he could play baseball again. So what does he get for his efforts? They sent him back down to AAA today.

That isn't a slight against him and he likely knew it was the plan before he was called up. Guys with minor league options get called up to make spot starts and are sent back down.

Yeah the Brewers have been shuttling long relievers and spot starters back and forth with bench bats the entire season.

Seattle game yesterday was fun. Ending on a Pandabear blooper mixed with an error forcing his chubby ass to sprint all out to 1st was great lol

I'm actually shocked Pablo is taking this shit seriously and performing decently. He's only a .3 WAR this year but all things considered since he's supposed to be a bench player and thrust into starting roles since our infield outside of Brandon Crawford appears to be made out of particle board, I'll take it.

The Kansas City Royals have traded former All-Star slugger Mike Moustakas to the Milwaukee Brewers for minor league outfielder Brett Phillips and minor league pitcher Jorge Lopez.

Asdrubal Cabrera moved around a lot for the New York Mets, switching spots all over the infield. He was on the go Friday, too -- to the Philadelphia Phillies.

The National League East-leading Phillies swung a deal four days before the trade deadline, getting Cabrera from the Mets for Double-A right-hander Franklyn Kilome.

They're going to move Shaw to 2B, should be interesting.

Is Moustakas even an upgrade over Shaw? I guess they're trying to redistribute some ABs but seems like you'd lose whatever edge by playing Shaw at 2B defensively

They're basically the same player, but we're getting nothing out of 2B, so moving Shaw's bat there should be good if he can be competent defensively.

MLB 2018 Season: Slugging Contenders and a bunch of Also-Rans

Apparently the Yankees kryptonite are shitty sub 500 teams. KC scored 10 run without Moustakas.
