Ugh I'm assuming you're only bitching about this because it was on Splinternews.

That article was a whole lot of complaining about 1) not being able to get stuff done as a Minority leader, and 2) Chuck not embracing leftist Bernie economics.

Point 1 is a lot of senseless noise. The Dems just don't have the numbers to block everything or the leverage to extract huge concessions. Anyone who thinks the Dems could have really gotten DACA through needs a reality check. They have admittedly have lost at a few points where they could have drawn a line due to defection, but those situations only exist when the GOP has defection (such as Haspel). I'm sure you realize that "Go farther left" is not a winning re-election strategy for defectors like Manchin or Heidtcamp.

Point 2 is the same generic criticism about the Dems not going full socialist that we've had for 1.5 years now. As much as you want the entire party to shift to the left, that's not only unrealistic it's the wrong way to build because it gives a national level opponent to run against in vulnerable seats. You go left where it's safe and the leadership shifts as the composition of the seats does.

To say nothing of the amount of seniority Californians would have to give up in the senate to get someone younger, and the sheer advantage she has simply being an incumbent.

This isn't even Nixon versus Cuomo where you can make an argument of a hypothetical Nixon losing in the general, the seat is guaranteed to go to democrats. It is absolutely safe for Californians to elect simply a more liberal senator. Entrenched democratic leadership won't make that happen.

I'm bitching about a minority leader who doesn't seem to go after the lowest of low hanging fruit by whipping votes against Trump cabinet appointees or has so far praised Trump's actions in regards to things like Syria and the Israel Embassy.

What I'm asking for is a little bit of red meat on the fucking bone that might go a bit to keep the dem enthusiasm up for the blue wave instead of just waiting for the comet to hit as McConnell continues to throw wrenches into everything.
